Question about closing an account

Ok so my ebay account has been suspended and I've been doing this stealth thing for about 2 months now. I called ebay tonight to try and trick ebay into unsuspeding my account. Of course that did not work. But i asked the lady if i closed my ebay account and waited the 180 days for it to be erased for good, if i could just make a new one after the wait time. (Not stealth) She said that it could work and that it was not against the policies. Im just wondering if anyone has tried it and if it is even worth my time to do it?

You're making the assumption that even Paypal employees know the ins and outs of Paypal. They do not.

The people of this forum have been burned by Paypal, from the lowest of employees to the highest (security/fraud team). Do not believe Paypal employees, because they do not fully understand how the system works. They are simply given training and a set of rules to follow. What they think will work within Paypal policy has not been tried by them and should not be believed. Believe in facts, not stipulation.

I believe he is trying to get across the point that even EB/PP employees don't necessarily understand/know the complexity of the PP/EB platform to advice you at that level.

No, I don't think it will work with what you've said. It will very likely fail.

Well darn! Im thinking about setting up a real LLC non stealth and waiting the 180 for my old suspended account to get out of the system. I will have to use my name but I will be getting a new bank account and I will use my office address. DO you think that this could work or still no chance?

My head is going round the bend & in a bloomin spin over this.

I will try to keep this simple & try to untangle any misunderstandings here.

You CAN create another STEALTH EB/PP A/C unconnected to this particular EB/PP A/C. This would work.

If PP decides to release the funds after the 180 day period, then you can attach a bank account to that PP A/C & then get the funds out , no ??? That was my understanding.

But i asked the lady if i closed my ebay account and waited the 180 days for it to be erased for good, if i could just make a new one after the wait time.(Not stealth)----The details you've used on THIS EB/PP A/C will remain on file PERMANENTLY & will be used to LINK you to any future EB/PP A/C you may create using ANY of those details on that blocked EB/PP A/C. Permanent erasure is NOT possible ever.

Talking to a ebay representative is rarely a guarantee that the information given is correct or will work.

An account that has been 'marked' by ebay stays 'marked. Deletion of the info stays on the database. On more than one occasion I have been told by ebay of old supposedly deleted infomation.

Fast forward one year, the re-use of old info will flag the replacing account.

Scenario will be suspensions again.

I noticed that if you change your information before suspension and you do not pay their fees, they will forward only your last updated details to the debt collection company. I had my real information on there first and changed to phake info just before my suspension, and I was contacted at the phake info only. So the debt went unpaid.

But the only thing I would be using the same is my name. I know there has to be another person out there in the world with my name. I could be wrong but I think it could work. I will have a different ip, email, address, new LLC name, phone number, CC, and Bank account. Who knows I'm probably sounding stupid but I feel like it could work

That new 'name' is more than the name itself. The associated ID like passport/dob/SSN of the new name etc etc.

So PP has partial/incomplete/different information on the original real 'name' end user.

In effect you can create a new stealth EB/PP A/C in the manner they are described in the stealth guide but in this case you can still use your 'real' name with the above deviations of the said plan above as PP does not hold these details to cross link/cross match you.

Phew....!

For the moment let's disregard advice from ebay.

Well all I would be using from my suspended account would be my name. I accident put my wrong DOB year on my suspends eBay and PayPal account. And I also never gave either of them my SSN or any tax ID or sent them in any ID. So as I would make a new account I would only be using the same name and I would give them my LLC name and tax ID.
