New account information

Hi all,

Wonder if I could get a few questions answered before I set up a new account. Firstly , I wonder which address I should use ? My home address is blacklisted , Or can I use a variation of this address ? I'm also at university with an address but can't use a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name as all mail goes to a post room and you need to show your ID card to pick it up , important if eBay send the verification letter that I have had before .

In addition , what type of eBay / PayPal account should I open ? Ideally I want it to be a business account , but not a ltd company as I don't have one . In the past when I have created a business account even individual they have asked for all manner of business proof like company registration certificates etc . I am trying to avoid this if possible .

I do not suggest ltd company anyway, unless you take further advice. So, they asked for company registrations for an individual business acc, unusual....is there no more to this story, did something trigger the request?

Keep it simple to start off.

Use any name, an address you have access to and a personal e/b & p/p account. These can always be upgraded once you have established some history.

Why would you suggest that, establishing some history usually means you have submitted doc's to paypal and all that, a change of details can trigger manual review which in turn would involve resubmitting doc, this means a whole new second set with the new details, not somthing i would advise to anyone let alone someone starting off.

Not sure what you mean as there has been no mention of changing details made.

My suggestion is basic set up for new account that once some buying/selling history has been established can be upgraded to a business account.

I thought I had answered - anyhow, variation of your address along with variation of your name should work at your university - Jack Bupkiss becomes Jacck Brupkiss - university should understand.

Or get a po box if you can afford it.

I would start with premier account. Business maybe later.

Luckily you only had one effort to reply.

It appears you have little to no knowledge of regulations of Halls Of Residence in the UK. There would be no understanding of falsified papers.

The OP faces being sent down by his college should the type of ID you proposed was shown.

Such a recommendation is perilous to the OP given the location is UK.

your own name and uni address and different DOB is what id do

uni wont have an ounce of dodgy stuff

if its a common enough name then youll be ok

if your called Mr Xexxxxici Zezzici then you may need to think again

OP, if you are just buying and selling a few personal legit items, use your real name at the uni address.

If you are planning anything other than the above do not bring your university into the equation. Is making a few quid worth risking your education?
