Default Using an address with no access...

Hi,

I understand that opening stealth accounts with no access to the address, may result in receiving a PP welcome letter. But does the PP welcome letter require any specific actions from me to prove anything? Or is it just a generic welcome letter?

I ask, as I can use some empty 'real' addresses (derelict), but do not have access to them, so if a welcome letter would arrive there it will simply discarded (no one will even return to sender).

Do PP still send letters out to raise limits still or is the welcome letter the only letter they normally send?

I will be using these 'derelict' addresses to create seller accounts only, and will put return labels to an address I have access to on all items sold, but eB and PP will never see that address.

Cheers

Never received a welcome letter from e/b or p/p in 10 years.

Dozens of accounts opened and never a letter but I always have access to any address I use so I would guess they dont send welcome letters any more.

There were some reports a while back of e/b sending out letters when asking to raise selling limits that contained a verification code that had to be input on their site to complete the request.

Can I ask, why you choose to have access to the address for ALL your stealth accounts? Is that not expensive?

Why have access to addresses? I would think that was obvious.

Any business requires investment if it is to last and be profitable.

'Premises' costs are just another overhead and a legitimate business expense.

Why jepordise accounts that take time, effort and money to set up for the sake of saving a few quid a year?

If you cut corners eventually it will catch you out.

Eliminate all possible risks and you increase your chances of success.

On what grounds do we 'trust you' ?

Take note of the OP's flag.................

UK accounts can get mail.

Therefore UK users are advised to have access to their address.

Your advise may not fly for UK, trust me!

UK receives letters from paypal....Wow that sucks....I guess you got no other option then to get an address that you have access to...Maybe use a relatives address or P.O. Box

I totally understand about having a solid business model etc etc

Just wanted to see if having a solid stealth without an an address with access is still a possibility.

I'm looking at setting up quite a few stealth (20+), and after using what addresses are available to me (friends, family etc etc), I will still require some addresses for the rest.

Are virtual mailboxes any good for stealth? Reason I ask is I'm sure other eB accounts may have been used at most virtual mailbox companies.

Does anyone else know a cost effective way of obtaining a address for stealth purposes?

I appreciate all your responses....

I don't bother to check up on my inaccessible stealth addresses, but I've never had a problem with this... after all, there are only so many properties that one can own in Knightsbridge and Kensington, lol.

Now I am a bit concerned. My two fully stealth accounts are purchased from approved members of this site. The addresses are random so I don't have access. Currently limited to 10 per month. Do they REALLY send out pin numbers to raise limits?

Ok, Ok. So it it wasn't a 'welcome letter', it was a letter with a code for you to raise limits because you ' asked for to raise limits' .

So are those the only letters you've seen by PP?

no it was an ebay letter as stated

ive only ever had one letter in 9 years from paypal and that was a pin code letter to confirm an account and that was roughly 4 years ago

never had one since

and yes you can run a successful and profitable ebay account without having access to the address if you do it correctly

many pitfalls to be had though

as the wise scottish gentleman says its safer on many levels and for many reasons to have a "real" address

not just for letters but for credibilty etc

What do you guys do, when you run out of 'real' addresses you have access to?

What other alternative is there?

get another one

its been discussed many times previously

the search bar is your friend here

however i personally tend to keep my methods regarding this hush hush as im sure most will agree

there are many options out there

but cheap rented office space is available will pay you back in the long run

BUT do remember that any address may have been used and burned by another stealther which would inevitably get your own account toasted

choose wisely young sir

With enough forward thought and planning there should never be a situation where you run out of real addresses.

It takes time and effort to find the right sort of place and for this reason almost every poster here who uses real addresses for their stealth accounts will be very guarded about their specific methods.

A most marvellous thing exists.

Our imagination!

Planing, refining, re-planing and adjusting become the way of being stealth.
