Half your luck then.

That might make the other lads jealous.

Oh wait, you mean a dongle?

recent thread below might help
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/uk-ebay...out-there.html

Usual criteria to check:

Reception in your area. Some are very very very slow.
Speed because of reception in your area.
Size ( as in IP numbers) from the selected ISP

We had another good chat about giffgaff too.
http://www.aspkin.com/forums/ip-addr...ff-dongle.html

Prefer 3 myself. Hate virgin for many reasons. Anyhoos, something to kick start your quest

I personally only use 'Three' dongles. The IP range is massive and a £10 topup will last me a full month of stealth account managment

They are £29.99 including your first £10 topup

If you want to get the maximum benefit of using mobile broadband over multiple stealth accounts then I would suggest either buying an unlocked dongle or get it unlocked once you have bought it.

Personally I use a number of ISP's for my accounts, these include 3, Giffgaff and a few of others.

That way I'm able to get a real mix of IP ranges across all my accounts making them less "similar"

As with all stealth accounts you need to keep records of which accounts use which ISP but the above scenario means you have less chance of getting duplicate IP's on your accounts.

There are some good deals to be had for data bundles out there, search around, you'll be surprised what you find.

Thanks for the replies. Think I'll go with a three dongle. Can you buy one locally or does it have to be online?

Dont forget to check your reception area.

I would do that before considering buying a locked dongle.

All depends where you are in the UK. When in Birmingham or London, Three perform best for me.

RE the locking thing - i.e. being locked to a service.

I'm not SO sure that the dongles are locked themselves. I think it is the software supplied that locks the use to purchased network.

I say this because I use an old Vodafone PCMCIA dongle made by Huawei (found in the electronics recycling where I live) and it WAS locked to Vodafone.

I then downloaded the generic Huawei software for it and then I could magically use ANY network by just swapping out the sims.

Then again, I can use my phone as a bluetooth 3G modem and have never had any problems with being accused of tethering (a risk you'd have to assess yourselves I guess...).
