i had a contract once with a bundle of mins, text and data... i was always hitting my data limit as you do
was never using my mins but used text...

i called the provider and they were happy to tweak the contract around, i gave up all my mins, lowered my text and came away with unlimited data... which was all i used the contract for anyways so worked a treat for me
of course im in uk... but i bet you could find a simular deal... all you do is ask ;)

once your tethering its just like breathing so simple

i was running 3 accounts on that 12 hours a day :heh: my bills were astronomical

i got onto them and changed it up... back in the day folks used to actually speak to each other :heh: so folks needed 1000's of mins and so on

i traded in all my mins and half my text allowance and got unlimited data :brushteeth:

now i dont tether at all :pound:

I tell you what I did (And still Do) to avoid this, when Phone carriers have "Unlimited Data" Promotions, I sign up, and I NEVER renew the contract if the Unlimited Data Promotion is not available at the time of my renewal, I will simply keep my old contract because the Unlimited Data is "Grandfathered in" and should I desire a New Phone, I simply pay Full Price for it, instead of renewing a contract that does not include Unlimited Data,,you also NEED to find out if your carrier THROTLES Speeds,,,this is VERY Important,,,some unscrouplous carriers will give you Unlimited Data BUT Only say 1GB per Month at 4G Speeds the Rest at 2G(EVO), which can be really fustrating

However, an issue I still don't get is if I get a new modem (with a network socket), and connect it to my wall coax, will its fresh MAC address pull a new IP? Or is the IP generated according to my laptop's MAC?

I'd hate to get that setup only to find it gets the same IP! How can I make sure IPs are not generated according to my laptop's MAC?

Although at this point I'm really confused about according to which hardware's MAC address will the IP be generated - modem, router, or PC?

The router controls the MAC address that your IP is assigned to.

Change the MAC address in the router, change your IP address.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this thread.

Moving on, I read through the stealth guide and am unclear on the relationship between the bank account and the credit card.

I need to open a bank account, this can be done online. Then go to a store and buy a prepaid credit card, reading on this forum I hear Vanilla Visa is good. Now do I need to connect this card to the new bank account somehow?

Another burning issue - can I send money from a stealth PP account to another PP account that is not limited or anything, but is associated with a suspended EB account?

You can start off with a VBA instead. You can't withdraw funds to it, but at least you don't burn through your real bank account. You can always add your bank account later on while you become more established.

A Vanilla Visa gift card works as a great VCC. Lots of thread on both of these topics, read through them to get more familiar w/ methods on how to implement them.

Avoid doing this, as this would create a link between your PP accounts.

VBA is virtual bank account? Is it not the same as an online bank account?

How would sending money to my other PP account create a link? Isn't that just like making a payment to any account? I mean, I am not linked to all the people I ever paid, right?

A VBA is a "stand-in" for your Bank Account, kind of like a stuntman. It's only purpose in life is to verify your paypal.

Here's the thing with sending money to other Paypals....Paypal will eventually begin to investigate and may even want docs, so why have paypal start looking into your accounts?

Also, A LOT of people have come on this forum with the following, "Sent Money from my Stealth Paypal to my main Paypal and now both are limited and asking for documents"
Unless you want to be part of that club...don't do it.

A "stand in" for the online bank account? I don't understand.
And so if I don't send money to my other PP, how can I withdraw from the stealth PP/online account?

What is Not to Understand,,,,It is NOT a REAL BANK ACCOUNT, You Cannot get your Money, you have NO ATM Card, Checks, Tellers or ANY Way for you to get your money,,It is Just a Simple account Number that has the ability to "Receive" PayPals 2 Micro Deposits, and tell you what they are so that you can go back to paypal and Enter that information, which is Required by Paypal in order to Verify your Paypal account, you will still need to figure out a Way to get your money OUT of Paypal

Thank you Slapped. It's not the concept that I don't understand, it's the usage. Is this kind of bank account the one that is advised to open according to the stealth guide? Why would I want to use such an account if I can't get the money out of PP with it? We've already established that sending money to another PP is a no-no.

Here's a scenario:
You open your Ebay Account, You open your Paypal Account...You add your "REAL Bank Account". You start selling...AND BOOOM they limit your Paypal, well now you have wasted a Bank Account.

Now, which would you prefer to have at that moment? think hard!

The idea is to sell on your account(s) and make sure the accounts (ebay/pp) are going to last.

Also, you keep using the term, Online Bank Account...can you elaborate on what you mean?

If you need to withdraw funds...add a Real Bank Account....there are tons of banks that work with stealth.

Listen, unfortunately there are a LOT of Lowlives On Ebay, and what they do is Create Paypal accounts using those Types of Bank accounts, then they Buy all Sorts of thing and Have then sent to an apartment that they Rent, doing this as a way to "Withdraw" from Paypal, all because they are selling a Lot of Garbage and do NOT want to be Connected to their Ebay/Paypal accounts, it is because of Scu$b@gs like that that Ebay/Paypal Get rid of ANY account that they even SUSPECT of wrongdoing, and a LOT of innocent Sellers like Us here on this forum get caught up in it

The term I use "online bank account" is a direct quote from the guide, see step 6. I thought it is a way to open an account online, which is not the same as opening a regular account?

So how do I open a bank account for verification only, so I don't waste a real one?

You're saying to only add a real bank account after the stealth PP account has aged and is good, and only then withdraw?

It all depends on you, what your true intentions are, and the area that you live in,,

For me it is Simple, I Do NOT Rip People off on Ebay, I Live in a Big City where there are DOZENS of Banks, I Have Plenty of experience setting up and Maintaining a New Ebay/Paypal account, so I ALWAYS use a REAL Bank Account right from the Beginning, You may want to Use a VBA, if for no other reason, just until you get enough experience under your belt to have your Ebay/Paypal accounts stick, but that decision is ultimately yours
