itsjappo 08-18-2011 02:09 AM

any update on etrade if it still works. i did research on it and found that it verifies it but then limits your account shortly after. any one can confirm this?

DVP1977 08-18-2011 08:19 AM

Will it be suitable for me to ask friend in USA to open account BOA?
I have stealth PP account in PayPal.com/ee (ESTONIA). I have verified Business account.

How to get 2 Paypal accounts with 1 bank:
Use a credit union!
I have been on eBay for 3 years and use The Golden 1 Credit Union (based in California). For each bank account you open get 1. an account number 2. a book number. You can enter both of those as 2 seperate bank accounts into Paypal and they will NEVER know its the same account.

Another tip. If I need another account, I call and say I "lost" or my checks got "stolen". They cancel my checks and give me a new book number over the phone. In 3 years I have only had 2 accounts that I have been changing book numbers on when needed.
I dont know if anyone else uses this. Ask if you have questions.

This sounds extremely interesting. Any one else test this?

Return of the Blackhorse 09-25-2011 10:25 AM

Aspkin - do you want Australian things as well? Havent read all 7 pages, so i dont know if you already have an Aussie list.

GreenBean 09-25-2011 10:54 AM

There's no Australian list per se.

Return of the Blackhorse 09-25-2011 11:02 AM

So would it be helpful if i give a list for what i use? ie bank and cards?

GreenBean 09-25-2011 11:08 AM

Indeed, very helpful.

Problem has been the inaccuracy of info. ;)

Put the info here for the moment. I'll work with you to keep it going

Return of the Blackhorse 09-25-2011 11:19 AM

The banks i have used, who are fine with paypal are NAB (national bank, anz and bank west). I have numerous accounts with each of these, and the paypal accounts are stealth of course.

The ccard i use is from Woolworths/Safeway. Its a prepaid online mastercard (fluro green and available on the shelf), costs $2.95 minimum load $20. No id needed to get one etc. Have used over 15 of them, and had no issues with paypal or ebay.

Phone - telstra and westnet, can signup in stealth name with no id, as long as you pay the bill, noone asks questions. Of course you can only have the one number, so only useable for one account.

bigdonk 11-09-2011 12:31 PM

PNC Bank works with mismatched names in the US, just verified several paypal accts with them.

MichaelW 11-15-2011 01:44 PM

What is PNC Bank?

Thank you

Do you have the name for this card? I don't have Safeway here in TX.

Thanks

CC: Woolworths Prepaid Everyday Money Card here as well - they come in green, blue, black, or pink - all work the same
Bank: Been using Commonwealth Bank creating multiple accounts online real quick with no problems
Phone: Australia Virtual Phone Number | International Call Forwarding or Skype works too
Not too sure about Faktortel but I heard it worked for some people in the past

nobody999 12-08-2011 07:11 PM

hsbc should be marked "questionable". I've used it for stealth names before and worked fine but recently funds are being returned back to amazon.
might want to update the sticky

troyzz 12-26-2011 05:54 PM

PNC Bank and Fifth Third Bank work perfectly with Paypal, and you can send funds to your accounts with mismatched names. With Fifth Third Bank you can open up savings accounts online once you're a member at their bank. With PNC you can print out a form and mail it to them and they'll open another savings account for you.

cortex 12-26-2011 05:58 PM

Are savings accounts a good idea? There has been some debate on savings accounts

troyzz 12-26-2011 06:18 PM

Ive used online savings accounts from HSBC and ING Direct (verification only) without any problems. Ive withdrew to regular savings accounts from Bank of America, PNC, 53, and Chase/Wells Fargo without any problems either. The only one that Im iffy on is Etrade (verification only). Ive used dozens of them earlier this year without any problems, but started having trouble with them and Paypal around Fall. Ive recently bought more etrade accounts so Im still testing them. Ive withdrew money into my HSBC online savings account with mismatched names, but they dont like it when you start moving too much volume. I moved $1k+ within a week or two and they gave me a phone call to stop it. Also, this is the HSBC Online Savings Account which you sign up for online. Not to be confused with the regular savings account.

ploughman 12-27-2011 09:59 PM

FWIW, Georgia's Own Credit Union also works for receiving deposits from PayPal on stealths. I knew I'd have to be the guinea pig on that one. Their free checking is really free, they have fewer fees than big banks and are tapped into ATM networks allowing surcharge-free access at 70,000 ATMs. They have branches in the Atlanta and Savannah areas.

problem with savings accounts in the US is that you are limited to 6 withdrawals/transfers out of an account coded as a savings account per month.

My credit union is now saying that some law (terrorism money laundering?) is limiting them to 6 withdrawals or less a month for an account to be considered a savings account. Of course the UK could be totally different, but there might be issues for some on this board along those lines.

cortex 12-28-2011 07:43 AM

I would totally advise AGAINST using savers from Lloyds tsb - they gave me a lot of trouble and interviewed me for 40 minutes. quite scary. Other savers might be ok though?

MichaelW 12-29-2011 09:01 AM

6 transactions post to your account. Not 6 withdrawal

Any one else tried and tested this? Very curious, as are many others, often times annoyed at the fact of opening numerous accounts.. In some occasions causing credit inquiry's or negatives on reports.. Correct?

Thanks

Hey guys...Im still fairly new but I use Green Dot cards (use direct deposit info for bank account to withdraw) Paypal/Ebay

GoogleVoice for phone on Ebay

These aren't on the list should I not use these??

Hi everybody, I was searching for the perfect place to post this tidbit of information and I've found it! SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE AN UPDATE ABOUT HSBC ADVANCED SAVINGS. I figured I'd give them a go only to find out if you transfer funds to this type of account with mismatched names or even names that vary slightly they will not let the transfer go through. Maybe this is new for them, but when I called to find out what the problem was, after speaking to 6 different people they all gave me the same answer. Any money coming into my accounts need to have my names on them. oh well I'll be trying a new bank on the list.

I also should mention all of these accounts were opened in December 2011 so I'm not sure if this applies to previous customers, but if they are doing it to new customers I'm sure the old customers will be grandfathered in.

H S B C is currently is getting the proctologist's treatment from the IRS and SEC, among other US government institutions after the UBS tax cheating scandal. So they are VERY picky lately due to their fear of what will happen if they cross Uncle Sugar . . .

Since the word is that the UBS scandal supposedly netted the US gov't something around US $7 billion or so in back taxes, penalties and fees, Uncle Sugar is on a rampage. (That number is probably stretched, spread thin, and then counted and multiplied exponentially so the gov't can justify doing what they are doing--especially hiring all those extra IRS revenue agents!--but it's a number they are putting out there.)

Almost immediately after UBS settled with the IRS there was an announcement that the gov't would be "making inquiries" with HSBC. And what happens if the bank does not comply? Uncle Sugar confiscates up to 1/3 of the bank's money sitting in every branch in the USA, and possibly around the world. They mainly get away with it because the US dollar is still considered the world's reserve currency . . .

Because of this, some of the international finance experts are saying to avoid HSBC when it comes to opening a bank account if you have a little blue book issued by the US Gov't for travel (passport).

Hi,
Hope you can help on this so I don't waste a bank account. I've asked this twice in the last few months, but no responses unfortunately. In Canada, I have used the vanilla visas and mastercards. (I know there is now a note in this sticky about mastercard, but I had no problems with it.) My question is, with the vanilla cards, you used to be able to enter the full name and address online to register them. Now you can only add the postal code. Is that enough to pass the verification? I have read different opinions on the verifications for ebay and paypal and that they may have changed. Could you confirm please how much of the name and address is now used? Thanks

robsut 01-13-2012 04:17 PM

for call forwarding in the uk to verify paypal ebay and amazon accounts i recommend aql.com, it works every time and is also cheap £2 per month for each number

lhall5422 02-06-2012 09:04 PM

Bank account and gift card

FYI... Regions checking and savings accts work with stealth. Only thing with the savings is that you can only withdraw 3 times a month so account wouldn't be good for buying. As far as gift/credit card to link to be able to activate instant payment, vanilla gift card visa from Walmart worked. Just make sure to do zip code for online shopping. Also, zip must match billing address zip code. GOOD LUCK!

freedomplz 02-08-2012 11:57 AM

Sure does

Actually works with other banks - Chase, Wells Fargo. You just need access to the accounts - really crazy, the stuff that works.:cheer:

unkown5454 02-08-2012 03:33 PM

They have this "book" number? No one else has ever mentioned that...

lhall5422 02-10-2012 10:54 PM

Correction on vanilla gift cards. I purchased mine at walgreens not walmart. Sorry. I am pretty sure you can get them at most stores like walgreens, cvs, rite-aid etc.

I highly, highly recommend voip.ms

One account allows you to painlessly setup multiple DID (phone numbers) in both Canada and the USA in many, many cities. Most are 1$ or 2$ a month, and you can forward to any phone number.

100% success rate for over 3+ years.
