My apologies for the misunderstanding!

Vicvelcro 08-19-2009 06:40 PM

TigerLord,
Maybe I simply wasn't as clear as I thought I was.

Everybody,
Anyhow, when the PP limit comes, and you are asked to confirm location, and you want to choose the phone option, don't bother unless your phone on file WON'T appear as a cell phone. If it will, go to profile, change to a viable phone, confirm location.

Please try to keep the first post updated... I know it's hard but it's easy to miss good information if you skim through all the posts.

Please add Capital One Bank requires that Paypal's name matches the Bank account. In this case it's not Paypal that is being a pain, it's Capital One. They'll lock you out in a second and it'll get your Paypal limited too.

Some user had already post it but I missed it, it got 5 accounts limited :violin:

FYI

Vicvelcro 08-26-2009 03:54 PM

Dang. I was just about to give Capital One a try. Just because I love the commercials. Those barbarians crack me up.

TigerLord 08-26-2009 04:02 PM

Just tried with a Paypal matching the bank, I was instantly limited (took 10 minutes). Same reason, except RXI020 this time.

I suppose Capital One are completely off limit for Canadians.

aspkin 08-26-2009 05:31 PM

Oh yeah?

I don't seen Capital One listed as a good bank on the first post.. unless another mod took it down.

As a rule of thumb always use a name similar to your bank account name if you don't want any problems with your bank.

A lot of banks these days do not like money coming into your account in another name. But I found nick names are okay, for example Bobby is a nickname to Robert.

Use nicknames for your PayPal accounts and it'll save you a lot of problems.

doughboykilla 08-26-2009 05:50 PM

Or you can use bussiness names which is 100% legal

TigerLord 08-26-2009 05:56 PM

I used a Paypal with the exact name after and it still got limited. I believe vic is correct about CapitalOne following the footsteps of ING.

As for the first post, the fact it was not there doesn't mean we shouldn't use it. In fact the phone service I found wasn't on the list and works better than all the recommendations.

Capital One wasn't there but it had already been reported in the thread, but the first post was not updated, and I missed it in my searches. It's nothing too terrible, but it'd be helpful to keep an updated first post :peace:

aspkin 08-26-2009 06:14 PM

I use ING to this day without problem. The only problem with ING is if the names are different. They don't care where the money comes from as long as it's in your name. I talked to them on the phone about this.

I don't see how Capital One would have a problem with PayPal. I'm sure hundreds of thousands of people use Capital One with PayPal without an issue, it's a popular bank.

Regardless I'm not sure of it's status now or the reason it's not listed on the first post. I haven't kept up to date with it. I'm sure many members here are using them.

TigerLord 08-26-2009 06:17 PM

It's possible I jinxed myself with CapitalOne.

I suppose all CapitalOne accounts have the same routing since it is an online bank?

Could also be adding a US bank account into a CapitalOne be a higher risk, but then, why do they even give the option?

I`ll have to try new stuff.

Don't skim then.;) Do a search B4 using a bank, a card or whatever. Read the posts about the subject. coolandcalm reported in 2008 about problems with this bank.
I think this Means to an End list needs a revamp. The info should be a read-only thread. Info about anything can be in another thread and added, amended, dated.. This what aspkin intended when he started the list. Now it's full of comments, apologizes and a bit of rubbish....imho:peace:

Posted earlier today. List amended and dated. NB: this has been an on-off problem with AccountNow & metabank.....
Comment in the above thread not here, thanks :peace:

I've Just Setup an =Alliance & Leicester Basic Cash Account. It states on this form that it's Confirmed. Now when I got this account they gave me a Sort Code and Account number but My Account number has 11 digits....Which does not fit into the 8 digit only box on paypal. They also suplied me with a 8 digit account number which is : 00000000 . They say you need to use this with the 11 digit number. So How the Hell I'm I suppose to use this account on Paypal? Also Who Confirmed this type of account Works????????

SECondplaygames 09-03-2009 01:17 AM

I just started with wachovia and I love them. The did a charge back via ACH because paypal *tried* to over draft my bank account after account limitation.

bluemoon999 09-03-2009 07:48 AM

Are you sure? If you read the 1st page (or look at blow), some people had issues with Wachovia. Have you done any withdraw yet?

*********************
Wachovia - Had issues with mismatch names, not recommended if not using similar or same paypal name as bank accountconfirmed by Schills no good 6/5/2009

Wauchovia: multiple accounts receiving funds in different names gets everything shut down. Not recomended[*] AccountNow & Metabank being rejected by paypal (again) 8/27/2009: prepaid bank not liked. paypal limiting accounts

SECondplaygames 09-03-2009 02:57 PM

Tons, They are awesome. I am thinking about switching to them for my normal banking. Maybe there protocols have changed now that they are owned by wellsfargo. I'd say its worth a shot.

I am more inclined than B4 to not have Rushcard recommended.

surcerouche 09-25-2009 09:19 AM

Guys...how about ready card, is that ok for ebay/paypal/amazon?

SteveO 10-22-2009 11:57 PM

Callcentric should be added to the list. It's a VoIP service provider. They allow pay per minute at like .02, each number costs $2 p/month plus a $2-3 setup fee. You can put a SIP phone on your iPhone to connect to it or use your choice of softphones or hardware adapters. They have call treatments to which I have to say are the feature of the future for consumer phone service. It allows you to make "rules". Like sending PayPal or collection agency calls to a disconnected message. They gave me a warning if your IPs jump all over the country but I just said work VPN or what ever, and mentioned they shouldn't interrupt my service in case I have a 911 emergency. That was a year ago and many phone numbers IPs later. No problems with there service. Highly recommended.

SteveO 10-23-2009 05:28 PM

Just downloaded My Temp Number for the iPhone. It offers apparently unlimited temp numbers 1 at a time. The cost $1.99, could be the grail of phone verification. Will get back to you after using it a bit.

nobody999 01-07-2010 12:38 AM

GreenBean 01-07-2010 05:01 PM

^^^Glad I took a bet with myself. Do you ever say 'thanks'?

IDK 01-26-2010 04:31 PM

I'm confused. Why is Tracfone listed under Phone Verification? I thought cells couldn't be used to verify?

lakeman 01-26-2010 05:10 PM

You can use Tracfone for eBay verification, works perfect.

IDK 01-28-2010 03:23 AM

What is the beef with Metabank/NetSpend? I've been using them since I started with eBay in 05'. I think it should remain in good standing until someone can provide some hard evidence that it is no good. Accountnow has also worked great for me. Is this a problem with UK sellers, or both UK, and US? Is the problem before or after being verified? We really need to discuss this in detail. One or two people having problems is not a good enough reason to write off a company IMO. :noidea:

Are you saying, that you've been opening new paypal accounts with metabank?I stopped using metabank when I got limited for trying to withdraw to them.

SteveO 02-18-2010 01:29 PM

I just use them for CC verification almost all prepaid CC are metabank processed.

aspkin 02-18-2010 02:39 PM

Seems this thread needs some updating. :)

Grrrr.

stealthpirate 02-19-2010 10:04 AM

Does anyone know if TD Bank works with different names????

stealthpirate 02-19-2010 10:17 AM

Also with Emigrant Direct. Do you have to open up a savings account that links to your checking account. On the Emigrant direct website it only talks about savings account and that it can link to your present checking account just fine. So a Emigrant bank checking account (rather than Emigrant direct) works fine with different names????

yogarelax 02-20-2010 06:24 PM

not sure thi is the correct place for this, but, I used the old srealth to aet up any account two years ago. all has gone ok. so i guess not nuch has changed on the update??? i also have used wachovia bank the whole time . going ok, i guess.i am fairly simple minded so i really followed the steps from the beginng , new user account, new every thing and as i am , just ploded along slowly . so far so good. i mean i did every thing you said and kept records, hope i am not going to jinx my self by telling this.

mrkbri 05-27-2010 11:29 PM

not sure if already mentioned but i just looked up "Gizmo Project" and it seems they are not accepting new members

"New user signup has been suspended and will return when we re-launch. To receive information about the re-launch please enter your email address."

Markk 05-31-2010 04:36 PM

I can confirm Sipgate.co.uk works for UK phone verification. I have used it several times.

MtnDew 06-03-2010 09:26 AM

I used vumber recently for ebay and in the thread its stated it doesnt work...update askpin? lol lots of info on forum...but the more I read the more webbed the info gets.

Everyone appreciates the info but guys make it simple and correct everyone...of course things change constantly obviously.

Vicvelcro 06-04-2010 05:20 AM

Vumber seems to come and go. I think it goes on the black-list for a while, then they take it off, then they put it back on...

It's a gamble.

DAILYHUNDRED 07-26-2010 06:14 AM

Can any member verify Bank Of America and/or chase allow paypal transfers with different names since the main post has not been updated lately? Thanks!

aspkin 07-26-2010 08:49 AM

I'm fine with BoA, no problems.
