Agreed.. if it works for you than congrats.. in general selling "HARD and FAST." raises lots of red flags and puts new accounts at risk. However if it's working for you.. more power to you.

Perhaps that is your subtle interpretation, but you missed some serious points. Then you decide to become the forum peacekeeper and throw a bunch of "maybe" blankets over the fire.

No one came in here saying, hey look at this n00b, let's kill him.

OP is not the first person to come on this forum claiming to have gained a bunch of secret knowledge from some random moronic rep on the phone. Thousands of us here know what the OP claimed is dangerous and far from proven to ever be a solid track for progress in ste/alth. No where on this forum does anyone experienced in creating dozens of accounts say they became extremely successful by slamming EB with listings the second you create an account. Nor is that something a new seller who is inexperienced with EB would every do. EB knows this just as well.

There are so many ridiculous posts on this forum. Those of us experienced make it a point to see that rumors and hearsay from one or two random users does not become any kind of staple for stea/lth, especially when we KNOW that something being said is proven to fail constantly. Many people, including myself, are very thankful for those that come in and stop the nonsense before it spreads. That's why it's a forum where we can respond and discuss.

You can try to be the referee all you want, but I as well as others are not going to stop calling people out when we know they are in the wrong and need to be corrected so that new people don't come in and actually believe they can do whatever OP says and all will be fine. Have you not ever seen new members asking tons of questions because they searched the forum and some idiot posted something that is not safe or true? It's a waste time for everyone.

OP can do whatever he wants if it worked for him once or he just likes to believe whatever those retard reps tell him. Either way, it's not safe for stea/lth and that is a proven fact you cannot deny.

After reviewing your account, we've made the decision to reduce your monthly selling limits or set a selling limit if you did not have one before. You can now sell up to 22 items and up to $500.00 a month, whichever comes first. Each month your account is reviewed automatically, and if you are able to maintain a positive selling history, your limits may be increased.

i have 3-5 i made with a cable modem last month. i am waiting to see how those turn out. I am done making accounts with my tethered phone, ebay instantly makes them 0/0 ... and as you can see, does NOT like to upgrade them, even with great feedback.

i've also tested... Creating account with tethered cell phone, and then converting to seller account a day or 2 later with a cable modem ip... still results in 0/0 so that tells me, ebay is IMMEDIATELY flagging the account during it's FIRST creation, not the selling creation step. Which means.. theoretically you could cruise town. Create accounts on wifi's and then use your tethered phone at home to make it selling, and avoid the 0/0 pitfall. I haven't tried that yet. I do service all my accounts with tethering, which hasn't affected them, only thing that has flagged the 0/0 demon is a Mobile creation from the start.I guess the next test would be doing what i said. Unfortunately i am sole person running my business and i rarely find time to ship 100packets a day and do this.

I agree. I get many requests from new users here to tell them all the things that I know. I tell them that I found out 99% of what I know from due diligence and they should do the same. However, I would like to be a contributing member to the forums so I like to point people in the right direction so they should at least know what to google or from what perspective they should look at things. I know people get impatient and desperate that they tend to get tunnel vision so if I can get them to think from an alternative view it should help them.

From the outside, this conversation looks like this:

BL: HAY GUYZ IM DOING THIS AND ITS AWESOME RARRRRR! TRY IT!
Forum: Newbie! Flame! Go away! Annoying! I'm moar expereineced than you! (click thank button many times)
BL: ***backpedal***
Forum: NO BACKPEDALING! WE STILL HATE YOU!
BL + DM Shark: Lets stop insulting each other and have a constructive conversation!

There are so many things that are in question here that no one should be jumping to conclusions, BL included. For all we know he's selling bulk, unbranded paper pulp or some other business-related item that we "experienced" sellers have never thought of and his lack of restrictions is category based.

....maybe he's buying an entirely new land line for each of his accounts that he's making. He already said the only reason he got the call was bc he's a shareholder, and I'm not sure how many shares of stock I need to buy to get treatment like this but I might start doing it.

All I'm saying is, BL isn't the only one playing the jump-to-conclusions game. Just because someone takes a moment to post an alternative idea does not give the rest of the community an open-season pass to rip on them.

Anyway - BL congrats on your success and I hope that your methods continue to work for you as well as they have been. I'm looking forward to your future contributions and I think you'll be a helpful, but slightly reckless member. Kind've like the lovable exact opposite of rsot.

....and in further defense of BL, I will openly say that I sound like a complete prick on the phone and I almost always get nailed with ID requests. I have a buddy who used to do sales calls and he is able to sweet-talk a rep into thinking it's acceptable to sell porno in the "Americana" section (true story) on an unverified account with no sales history. Seriously. These things happen.
I appreciate you taking the time to write a thoughtful post. When I posted this thread, I was not looking to grind gears with anyone. I am simply ignoring the thoughtless posts that do not contribute anything to the thread but rather just target my character in which NO ONE in this forum truly knows. I look forward to sharing ideas with everyone here regardless if they like me or not. I am wreck-less with my accounts this is how I have been able to identify for MYSELF what works and doesn't work. But to each his own.

I agree it can raise red flags, however the items I'd like to add a couple of points. The items I sell are UNBRANDED NON-VERO LOW COST. Furthermore, when I speak to eBay, I tell them I have been thinking about selling on eBay to "pay off debts" and I finally took the time to go to "XXX local supplier/store" to try out some items to sell and see if I do well. This usually goes over very well and from the beginning they put notes on my account indicating that I am looking to sell more and more if I see success on my account. Therefore, when I call to request a higher limit they see that this was my goal from the beginning. I am more than happy to share ideas with anyone who will take the time to do the same. This is a community that should welcome all ideas and provide alternatives if some one sees it from another view. I do not hold anything against anyone on this thread that has done just that. As for everyone else that has simply attacked my character without thought, evidence or contributing further to the thread; I do not care what you think of me. I have been told I am arrogant my whole life but this arrogance is what has made me successful well beyond my peers.

BTW, I spent all of my graduation money and savings to buy stocks back in 2006 when I turned 18. I bought 100 shares of eBay when it was $24.48 per share. Since then, I have bought 10 shares per month. I am a firm believer in eBay's business model, hence, I like to look at things from their perspective when I am making stealths. Frankly, as I have stated, restricting my main account was the best thing they have done for me because I can now sell well beyond the selling limits I previously had with one account. This is why I am wreckless with my accounts. Whether or not I sell items on eBay or maintain my accounts; I still make money from eBay.

I could provide you some ideas as to why eBay is reacting the way they are to your accounts. Personally, I have used cellphone tether for ALL of my accounts. I have mistakenly linked a couple of them by IPs even though I log them; not a single one has been restricted. I don't think this is so much of an issue because in keeping current with technology news much like the population of the world, there are less available IPs for the amount of users there are. So when you look at it from this perspective, you would understand that there are numerous eBay accounts with overlapping IP addresses. I know this for a fact because on one of my phone calls a rep asked me if I knew eBay user XXX (which I owned). I knew that this account was linked with the account I called in with and I was prepared for this. So I simply told the rep that this account was my only account and I do not own a Cable/DSL ISP and I use my cellular data for everything.

As of 6/18/14 no limits have been increased on these accounts. I am waiting for the 3 month hits on these new non tether creations, we'll see. Items i sell are $10-11 and my profit is a few bucks each, so i have to sell a lot to make profit. These 10-25 accounts are ALMOST worthless, ok not worthless. I will just pawn off my $50-75 items on them i guess. Problems going forward is, replacing the "legacy" accounts of 2011/2012 as they go down over the years. The 100-300-thousands.. of listings. sighS! I import, so unless i get "creative" with everything under the sun. I cannot get big accounts to start. But with everything... you gotta change with the times, and these creative folks i have a feeling, are going to be rich in the coming year(s)

Hmm, I've seen this too. Does your method work every time with your certain product? It has happened to two of my accounts selling these things

Update to my list... 5/6/14 account that was created, just bumped from 10 to 30.. and 3k... it has 3 feedback.......................................... ......

sigh, there is no method to their madness and it was created with a tethered phone and had to call in. I really am beginning to believe the rep you talk to, makes the decision whether to flag the account for auto increase or not. Or maybe lack of notes. Any account that has started over 10 items doesn't seem to get boosts automatically. I find it hard to believe, february and january accounts that are nearing FIFTY 50 seller DSR's with no negatives.. Are not getting auto increased just out of luck. There has to be a reason. Whether it's the rep who flagged it, or what. The account that jumped bumped from 10 to 30, i spoke to a younger guy on the phone, i remember the call because we both chuckled at my email address when he repeated it to me. That particular account. Received the email about sending in docs to verify it.. But they had given me 10/1k anyway. It started out 0/0 until i called it.
