Yeah we have some fairly old boxes that have legacy stuff on them. But it worked great when it worked.

Only issue with FF portable is getting Roboform (password manger) to work on several separate browsers. Anyone face similar issues?

Guys, be very careful with this method. Tonight I discovered a link that shut down a staggering number of accounts

It seems the ebay extension for safari, albeit disabled, was still beaconing whenever safari was open, linking my buyer's account to all of my stealths. I have since DELETED the extension, not just disabled it.

I am recommending the continued use of a separate user profile intended for ebay management only... and do not use your regular browsers for really anything. Ebays recent new advancements with browser notifications will act against you very easily.

happy stealthing everyone. This was a costly lesson

It's been said over and over that apps from ebay on phones or computers, any extensions should NEVER be used!

Re: Firefox Portable??

I honestly had no idea it was even there.

Goes to show anyone can slip up!

So the ebay extension was there and you had no idea honestly?

Man who uses safari for this stealthing? Firefox or chrome at best.

Just watch it. Add nothing to avoid for chrome, firefox, etc. :(

Re: Firefox Portable??

hmm. doesn't look like it was an extension after all... it was a refused request for mac notifications.. which still had a beaconing ability.

Safari was never used for stealth, only for casual use, purchases etc

looking deeper into this issue

Firefox portable works like a dream...just make sure you don't let Silverlight and others try and access the portable browser.

When in doubt...new user accounts have not failed me

Re: Firefox Portable??

Ok so I've been looking this information up but its definitely limited

what it appears to be is that without even visiting ebay that day/time period, the fact the previous notification REQUEST popped up, still gives the ability for the host site to have a traceable beacon like images in an email, even though the request was denied.

This popup request happens when you log into ebay for the first time in Safari, and even when denied, it still populates in the list of notification sites.

with the option checked to allow sites to ask for permission, I looks like sites are still allowed permission to gain certain data and communicate, but then the actual notification itself is just suspended from being delivered due to the "don't allow" button being checked.

so if any of you use Safari, be sure to go into preferences - notifications - and UNCHECK the box allowing permission for sites to push notifications.

i will continue using firefox mobile, but likely in a separate user account and never touch other browsers

cheers
