I have a friend who works at ebay and supposedly they are making some big changes as far as how they identify users. Something they are calling strong id match I believe.
It sounds like its going to use a lot more web fingerprinting to determine if users are the same people or not.
Anyone heard anything else about this and know how much harder this is going to make our job?

Interesting.
People have been speculating for years that this might happen.
Would make like difficult at first then we will adjust and keep going.
If you want to get an idea as to how unique your web fingerprint is check it using this link: https://panopticlick.eff.org/

They wont cut their nose to spite their faces.
Ebay is not amazon
If sellers go, they are ass end out of money, plain and simple.
And if sellers feel that they will lose their bank, there will be no need for buyers to go there.
And we are stealthers...We wont die, but multiply

I don't know if i believe this anymore. Big sellers will stay no matter what. The big sellers don't go through what we go through. They get special treatment. We don't. Stealthers to them are like the immigrants the US is trying to get rid of but they keep on crossing over.
From what i see, eb is doing EVERYTHING they can to get rid of us. They don't go through EXTREME measures that will outweigh the benefit or cost of getting rid of us but they sure as hell want us out.

Ebay has us, large and small. They do not have the stock on/in hand.
Ebay is just the middle man. Their fees are outlandish and the way they treat us can only be tolerated for so long.

Fact is you have to play the game to stay on top of them. |

Any measure eBay tries to counter Stealthers will last so long. Just like a computer virus, an ANTI will be released to keep Stealthing stronger.
If the only tool you have is a hammer, think about every problem as a nail.
Long live STEALTH!

Ebay is just the middle man. Their fees are outlandish and the way they treat us can only be tolerated for so long. | Its been quite some time they have been tolerating us like this. We keep coming back. Always will. Where else will sellers like us go? Until another competitor comes out that is similar to eb it will only get worse.
Ever been to their forums? Nothing but complaints, even from big sellers. They laugh at how pissed we are. It means NOTHING to them.
No matter how high the fees get, how intolerable it gets, people will keep coming back and things won't change until another competitor comes out.

Yes i know i have probably made a fair share of actions that caused eb to tighten up their system here and there. The fact is, if i haven't done it someone else would. I had plenty of tricks up my sleeve that i refused to use because i thought to myself that it will hurt me in the end and everyone else. What happened? Month or two later eb got rid of the glitch or work around. Someone else did it and got their attention and they fixed it.
Just the way it is. The way i think of it is, do it while you can because sooner or later it will be exploited by someone or it will be fixed.

I am currently trying to switch my business model to amazon anyway simply because of FBA but it will be interesting to see what happens. If I learn anymore i'll be sure to update. Just passing what I know on so the community can discuss.

I been spending this year promoting highly addictive item with great affiliate program. I could live off income of it already but hope double it in next year. I already tripled or quadrupled what it earns me so far this year just wish found it few years earlier when it started. So if have PayPal problems next year should be better off than was in 2010 when had stroke and they limited me while in hospital. Best part this affiliate program only pays with bank wire once get heavy hitter which I am most use PayPal. Hate the wire fee but prefer it than getting big payment being limited before withdrawal it.

My direction is to make enough money to be landlord of small building or several homes and maybe do maintenance... I have worked for myself for about 5 years (short but sweet)....
I have been hearing about these changes for several years and after the hack I knew the changes would come... But, ebay is also in financial trouble now with paypal separation... They will start at the bottom and work up... When things are good again (if ever) then they will start cutting small guys again... Right now as of yet I am not feeling the blows on accounts like last couple of years before the holidays...
Remember ebay is one basket.... Don't put all your eggs in them.... If you like online selling then spread sales as much as possible... Limit the potential damage...

What addictive product are we talking about here lol. Prescription or just over the counter stuff?

I want to get into real estate as well. My cousin owns 2 apartments that he rents rooms out to people. There is not a time where someone isn't calling for a room or the whole apartment. Everyone is cutting down on buying huge houses and staying small. Its a good time to take advantage of this opportunity.

This only affiliate program I ever made profit on.

When I buy my 3rd fourplex, I am kissing ebay goodbye.
The only thing that really gets me is when they call at 3am to complain that someone is locked out of their apartments. So I get up, check for ID and let them in. Other than that, I like it.
THat is the reason I am not so active on these forums anymore. I am so busy selling everything possible to get that 2nd or 3rd fourplex.
