Activity: 0% Longevity: 90% | | For those of you operating more than 50 accounts...
What are thy methods?
I've already posted about my methods in previous threads, here's a summary:
Long time ago (before 1099Ks): I was just running one account, one IP. *1*
Stealth time-Home IP, cell phone tether, WiFi hotspot *3*
Enlightenment (post 1099Ks): Home IP, 3G Cell Phone Tether, USB Stick Dongle, MiFi, VPS, VPN. *4-22*
So I've gotten up to about 22 briefly and currently mainly use a MiFi for my steathing needs. However, I find it very inconvenient in regards to time:value ratio, spending about 2-3 hours on just 14 accounts at times
I've found that VPS are a little quicker, but at a rate of $7/month, 20 accounts start to add up in regard to money:value ratio, and it's only about 20% more efficient.
Now, I'm soon-to-be taking the leap into *50-100* account category (hopefully the latter by this time next year) and I definitely do not want to spend 18 hours a day turning a device on an off, taking a sh*t, going to sleep and waking up to start over again.
For those of yall who are running 50+ accounts, what tips or tricks do you find help you the most in blasting through your accounts? Is it the way you connect to the internet (ie: VPS), is it the way you track your accounts (ie: only log into the account 2-3 times a week), is it keeping customers satisfied by taking care of all concerns without logging into ebay to send a message (ie: templates & automation).
I'd like to know! You know what I'm about, what are you about? |
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

I'm all for spreading risk...but why do you need to operate that many accounts at once?

I like ShipStation for the automation it provides. Ideally, you should not be logging into each account five times a day. ShipStation can help you to avoid this. They are not the CHEAPEST solution out there, but they are one of the best I have found.

I did have 5 paypal accounts get limited 2 weeks ago and it's been hard to start up without getting an MC999 these days. The more accounts, the less worry.
Still, running about 14 accounts is a chore, sucking up about 3 hours a day just on ebay alone
Definitely will take a look at ShipStation. I'm on Stamps.com for 2 of my accounts, but I don't want to link too many accounts into stamps, just in case.

How do you account for funneling the money back to your home country with US/UK paypal accounts?

On top of the accounts I sell, I always maintain close to 75 personal accounts for my own personal usage, some are just sleepers etc. But I like to keep atleast 30+ active a time.
First let me start off by saying VMware is amazing + I combine it with VPNs. So I can literally have 10 tabs open each tab is a different computer technically and each has a different VPN ip. So I can easily multi-task between 10 accounts at a time by changing tabs like on chrome/firefox. Extremely convenient, and if you really want to push it can open more tabs but then my PC starts to lag.

Always heard some super good things about VMWare. It's tough justifying paying an extra $200/month, which seems like the only argument against using it.
Pros include:
Fast access via your own internet connection and VPS
IPs all over the world
Convenience
No need to track IPs (lol)
Probably least likely to get caught in the future
Cons:
Costs an extra $2400/year to run 30 accounts
Costs an extra $3000/year to run 50 accounts

I'd make the leap if there was a possibility of running some az ghost accounts

I actually hired someone at a VA website for a month in 2013. I had interviewed 4 or 5 prospects over skype and training was only about 4 hours. He was able to take care of my one account almost as well as I would have (only operated 3 at the time). It freed me up to handle the intangibles of the business.
Idk about giving a VA 8-10 accounts though unless you are confident with your training.

Hi Evicktd,
Do you ship or are u dropshipping? I find your system amazing. I would love to get to that level but I am not a techie person or knowledgeable in VPN etc. I run 8 through virgin mobile and I am tired of waiting for a new ip. I had the mifi but returned it back because it wasn't mine. I am not sure where to invest next where I am not stuck in a contract and I don't have to wait 3 minutes for a new ip.

I've only used one VPN so far so this is a learning process for me too.
On your Virgin Mobile device, is it a 3g phone? It should have a new IP every time you turn it on.
I'm using the MiFi to run up to 20 accounts right now. It's very much doable and extremely affordable. If you are looking to scale up and time matters more than $$ then VPN *should* be the way to go. It's good to diversify. Even when I run the VPN network with VMware, I will probably keep my current pool of 15 or so accounts with the Verizon MiFi I'm currently running. It's just a good thing to have around and gets me off my butt lol.

I have a Virgin Mobile phone with a hotspot feature included.
IP pool is very good so far (even better than Verizon where I am located).
I can switch between 3G to 4G hotspot, and get even larger pool.
Though i prefer to avoid 3G due to lower speed.
Hotspot includes 3.5 GB of data per month, and when you hit that, speed
is going down to turtle speed of less than 1 Gb I think. Not something
you can work with on eb I think. Never got to use max data though.
I don't talk much on the phone so I chose unlimited text and 1200
minutes for $45 + hotspot feature $15.
So I am basically paying around $60 for phone and 3.5 GB Mifi.
Virgin Mobile works with Sprint antennas which are good in my area.
The only limitation is that there are only 3 devices at Virgin that
has that hotspot feature: iphone 4/4s, HTC evo 3d, Samsung S3.
So if you are into more fancy phones, latest versions of phones,
etc this is not for you. I bought a used evo 3d for $60 on ebay,
works great (camera s*** though).

I don't need to funnel - I make sure I know how to operate well in advance before I begin ...bank accounts exist worldwide...

Some things seem easy enough like name, vcc, bank accounts, but what do you do for addresses? Do you just not buy stuff on those accounts, take the loss on returns, etc. or do you really pay for 50+ PO Boxes?

To my limited knowledge, live UK bank accounts don't come easy to non-citizens, not like Payoneer here in US.
Canadian bank accounts can be done, I have 3 of them in my name personally.
