I read what you wrote. You do not understand, because you still retain the mind of a child.

If Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Donald Trump were to name you the heir of all their vast fortunes and the companies they own, you wouldn't be able to purchase back even one second of the time you have lost. Yet you remain, making petty insults against your faceless enemy.

You do not understand that TIME is the only thing of value you will ever possess, and no amount of money will change that.

As I said, you are a child. Someday, you will grow older, and with age, hopefully wisdom will follow. When that day comes, you will understand my words.

Until then, find another thread to troll in.

Yeah, that's what happens when you get a troll infestation. Thats why the mods moved this to the Sub section, so the troll couldn't respond anymore. Sad that non-paying members can't see the advice written in the first couple pages of the thread.

Ahh, I didn't look very thoroughly at her stuff. Just checked the amount of listings she had. She does indeed look like a drug user though.

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

This seems to go against the grain? Arn't you supposed to show to eBay you are just selling "personal items" and not have them snoop too much into your account?

I mean in a perfect world, yea the obvious excuse when asked the reason why you want to increase the limit would be "Because I plan to buy more inventory to sell and need higher lnmit to list and sell my items. I want to grow my business."

I don't know, Ghost what do you think?

I said I want to grow my business. The questions are pro forma and the rep are usually friendly. Nothing to worry about, as long as your account performance is good, you will get it.

I don't know, Ghost what do you think?

I always act like a new user. My excuse is typically "I'm moving soon and I have a HUGE bookcase full of novels...I'm kind of a bookworm."

I talk about how heavy the books are, and how you "never realize how much you have until you move" etc etc, and how I want to sell them on eBay and make a little extra money.

This way, I have:

- Low risk inventory
- Lots of stuff to sell
- A timetable. I need to sell it NOW, before I move.

This gets a reps sympathy/understanding and results in a quick, hassle free increase.

Of course, books are just an example. You can use just about anything. Except for iPads. :pound:

You don't bother with the public records. That's the point.

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

1. Call them up. Anything a normal account holder would do isn't suspicious. Personally I call a lot. I like them to know I'm not afraid. I like the call history.
2. You know those notes you were advised to take? Pull that out. Know your age. They once asked for my sign. I said Orion and that astrology was like fortune cookies. Never right and not really a cookie.
3. I've never just received an increase. It's not that you can't, I just don't wait that long.
4. I call about every 30 days. They can do a limit review every 30 days. If you start getting up there, they'll ask about your inventory. Just have the answers.
5. That person is just likely not good with ladies in general. It's not their fault you don't know how to come across well to them. Imagine them with a penis if it helps. I think you see from the other responses that women are no hurdle for any of us.
6. If you're more comfortable talking to men, do that. Hopefully you are in a country that's cool with you only liking men. Just realize they know how often you call, durations, etc. If they think you're being weird, It'll cause a red flag.

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

Pretty much sums it up.

The only things I want to add are:

You're actually able to get an increase every 25 days. The SYSTEM will allow them to increase your limits every 25 days, but not all reps know this. You might have to call them twice or even mention that another rep said it could be done.

As he said, it's all about acting normal. Don't stutter, don't "forget" and have answers to questions like "where do you get your inventory?" Small talk is key. Mention things like the weather or how busy you've been, etc. Try not to think too much about the "business" aspect of it (I know it's counter intuitive, but it works). It's really easy once you've done it a couple times.

I learned this after calling dozens of times. Finally, a rep let me know I could call every 25 days (he noticed on my account I always called every 30 days exactly). Sometimes it pays to be willing to talk to eBay....they can give you insider info. Especially if you're POLITE and CONFIDENT!

Best words of advice right there, be POLITE & CONFIDENT. They're there to help. They can help. Be someone worth helping and they usually will.

My item limit is at 100, and they said I need to sell at least 50% of my item limit, to get that increased.

Probably some weird algoritm that Ebay has to work out increases.

Wait a second, when do you guys put in your birthday when opening an account? Or is it that they will ask for your birthdate without even putting in the account so you have to know what to say immediately?

Not only have the birth date ready but calculate your actual age lol

I remember I called one time back in the day and the rep asked how old I was and I was like ummmm.... :D

GhostOfAmazon 12-13-2016 09:14 PM

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

Theres no option on eBay to input your birthdate that I know of. Usually the rep will ask when your birthday is when attempting to "verify" your ID. Hence, you need to know when your "Birthday" is, to avoid stuttering and making it obvious you're lying.

glacier922 12-14-2016 01:27 AM

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

Ok, so you need to say your birthdate confidently. Does it matter what time of day you call in? Im up at odd hours, and I'm in the same time zone as eBay, so 2 am will work yea?

I call bs on that too - many people prefer having phone numbers unlisted these days for security reasons and many people who only use cellphones are not listed. The days of landline phone numbers are reducing...

GhostOfAmazon 12-18-2016 10:45 PM

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

That, and everyone with a pre-paid phone, anyone who's on an "add a line" service (where the account holder adds multiple phone lines to one account to save on the bill), anyone "unlisted" as you mentioned.....

At least 30% of people who have cell phones won't have their name on the account.

I hate calling as well, but I find when its busy or during on peak hours, they are anxious to get you off the phone and will just lift and go.

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

I've never had a problem calling to get a limit increase. Time of day doesn't matter. Gender doesn't matter. Indian or American rep doesn't matter. It's easy as long as you don't act like a tweaker being interrogated by the cops.

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

Waiting to Call in....
I started a new stealth account 30 days ago. 10 items $1000.00 limit
- I have purchased several low dollar items (about 15 less than $2.00) an a couple of $25.00 items
- I sold 10 items at $800.00 total the first month
- I will easily sell that on the second & third months as well
- I will wait 90 days to call I would have an established selling and buying at that point.
Now by waiting to call do you think I would get higher limit?
-rather than calling in now at this point.

It is possible - like GhostOfAmazon stated, just keep it cordial and act proper. Hope your not selling "dicey" items e.g. high risk, vero, etc...

For the LAST TIME:

Calling in DOES NOT put your account at risk UNLESS you are selling phakes or risky items, i.e. Apple Beats or iPads, Xbox One consoles, etc....

OR if you "forget" and stutter answering basic questions like name and address......

If you can't be a smooth operator on the phone, just don't call, period.

They don't request squat 99.99% of the time.

To date, I've had ONE account where they "requested" it and it was AFTER they raised the limits. The documentation was "required for FUTURE increases". Well, turns out that wasn't the case---I got the limits increased the following month, no mention of the so called "required documentation".

As they say: "Much ado about nothing."

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

I was just gonna throw in an update here. This is how I do it and how I just did it this morning. Keep in mind this is my REAL account not a ghost one but the concept should be the same. You should have all your ghost information written down in front of you should you need it.
Questions they asked me:
My eBay user id
My full name
My address
Once I asked for a limit raise they asked a series of questions as follows:
How long will your handling time be
What provider will you use for shipping
If the items I sell are personal items

I call and ASK if I am eligible for a limit raise (obviously you are) I don’t tell them I WANT one I ASK for one. If they say I can raise my limits I let them know I would like to do that. Keep in mind they talk on the phone for a living so they are better at “feeling you out” than your BF/GF on the phone. Another point (something I always do on phone calls) when they tell you their name WRITE IT DOWN then every 2nd or 3rd answer you give use their name. I.e. Yes, Josh, I will be using UPS to ship my items; Thanks for your help, Josh. I feel it makes the conversation a little more personal. They pay attention to that stuff they are helping you out at least know him/her name.

P.s. Ebay more than doubled my $ selling limits this morning on the phone

GhostOfAmazon 01-19-2018 04:55 AM

Re: Calling To Raise Selling Limits

Only thing I disagree on is the "better at feeling you out" comment.

I've never gotten the impression they give a crap. I've actually forgotten my address on stealth accounts before or given them the wrong zip code lol.....and had to go to the account details page and give the correct info. I told them I was hungover and didn't get enough sleep, LOL! Guess what? Still got the increase.

Like I said, unless your account already has issues you won't have any problems talking to eBay. The bots are far far more dangerous than the phone reps they employ.
