Other link for OP must be proxy or otherwise got me thinking about mac addresses.

It just doesn't allow you to make major changes to the PC, such as programs that request certain access and such. You can override this by typing in the admin password, however.

I'm going to take a wild guess. Did all the accounts have the same last name and use the same computer / browser?
Bad news, it's simple to do a check on that. Simple SQL database query:
Select u1 in users
Where u1.browserSig == u2.browserSig AND u1.lastName == u2.lastName
from (Select u2 in users)
Sort by u1.lastAccessDate;
Especially seems likely the issue with an uncommonly used browser like Opera/Safari. They might also be accessing your native IP via the webRTC and/or flash.
(P.s., yeah, I do web dev/database/programming/etc. for a living.)

There must be some way of detecting something unique off the router.
As an example this website New Import Duty & Taxes Calculation | DutyCalculator allows you to do 5 free duty calculations.
I did those 5 six months ago. Now non of my home computers, phones or tablets can do another. Even when I turned off WiFi they had logged my phone so I still cant do it. I have a dynamic IP address and have even reinstalled windows. How are they tracking me?

Strange, I have never heard of this before either. I have 60 accts and none were ever linked and all my accts were admin, some accts were suspended, maybe only 4, but it wasn't because of linkage. Quote:

if u were somehow able to be traced between user accts, one way to test this is when u create a new eBay acct thru a new user acct, and let's say that eBay suspects anything, they usually would ask u to verify ur number before doing anything. That hasn't happened to me, so I'm guessing that eBay didn't link me. But u never know

(If there's a unique combination of those kinds of factors, a sufficiently advanced detection algorithm could detect it.)
I really doubt the router is giving away its MAC address. But, perhaps there's a unique structure in its packet delivery method that could be used to identify it? Maybe your router is 'open', or it has a unique firewall port configuration that can be detected via port scanning. If you've blocked or opened certain ports, this could be detected via port scanning and give off a unique port signature.

Router is standard TalkTalk default settings. Maybe not the MAC but what I'm getting at is if that website can recognise computers on the same network then so can eBay.

Does that matter? That's something I didn't read or hear of before now... is it better to have the user accounts on a computer Admin or not? Which is better, and why? I never thought this could be something to worry about, I'm very interested....
**Update... now going back and reading the full thread, Ghost of Amazon and Yankee seem to be in agreement that some stuff is shared between admin accounts. (go back and find it for your own benefit...) anyway, if years on this forum have taught me anything, when a user with the cred of Ghost or Yankee (especially if they are in agrement) posts something like this, it's worth making that tweak to be on the safe side. All my accounts will now be non-admin on both PC and Macs.
