Default Pre-November 2007 Seller Accounts Login Procedure?

Hey all,

I just bought a batch of pre-Nov '07 US seller accounts. Im currently dealing with all accounts created locally to me, so activating accounts like this is new to me.

All accounts are in various towns in the US. The seller (not from here) told me that the first time I sign in, I should make sure that Im using an IP address somewhat local to the address that was used for the seller account, or else I will be asked to verify my identity. He said the best course of action would be to login using a local proxy, and write down all information on the account. When I post my first auction, I may then be asked to confirm my identity. Then I just use the information I took note of to answer the questions.

Let me know if Im even close to on the right track here.

i personally think you should use dial up not a proxy or you will be wasting your time and will get suspended quickly.

You are nowhere near right with the information you have been given. I sincerely hope that you did not outlay a lot of money to buy them. If it was me I would get a refund quickly.

Alright, mind pointing me in the right direction then?

I dont plan on using proxies that can be detected as such. I quite familiar with using high anonymous proxies/VPN that can only be detected as actual IPs.

GreenBean is right.
1-ask this seller how did he create those accounts? via proxy, VPN or just clean US IP?
2-if they are US accounts and old, you don't have to worry about address and the phone numbers . just change them according to your new IP address or near to it.
3-you can buy a broadband wireless device and start working with your accounts without the need of the proxy.
4-try to start slow and create windows users for each account to avoid the linking and keep the flash cookies and cookies intact.

Good Luck

The seller claims he made them while on a cross country trip. He stopped at hundreds of different internet cafes, public internet stops, and created accounts while on his trip.

So what, you think I should call this guy out? He's a trusted resource for a few people I know. Everyone here keeps saying he's scammer, Im just wondering exactly why.

1. Is it because you don't actually need to login with an IP local to the address thats on the account?

2. I should be able to login with any IP address (as long as its virgin to ebay) and everything should be fine?
