It does suck about that broken seal.
True, i just hope after buyer receives partial refund he does not make another a-z claim requesting the outstanding amount.

I have decided due to buyer fraudulant behaviour and item not returned in original condition i am now only issuing him partial refund for £563.58. I also have photographic evidence of the item before it was sent and after receiving. Plus have his emails with false statments i.e never opened. He tried to be clever, abused Amazon policy and disrespected me as a seller.

A lot (if not all) of the details of the injustice in these transactions fall on deaf ears with Eby and Amzn and in a case like this (I only use Eby) I just take it back, accept the loss, and try to minimize it by selling it as used but excellent condition, and I do this quickly each time to make sure I get something back and minimize the disputes opened.

The very rules of the "protection" that Eby and Amzn set up are designed to protect the buyer first and foremost, which makes it a safe place for them to shop and encourages them to return (although unfortunately this allows those with experience to take advantage) and the sellers come in a distant 47th place after profits, and other things that benefit the company. So much for any appreciation for us sellers, who take it in the teeth everytime there is a dispute.

Sorry to bump.

OP, did the buyer reopen the a-z claim?

I have denied Amazon refunds based "Buyer Changed Mind" - Amazon agreed with me that said that was $100.00 item as well.

non-savvy buyers give the 'wrong' reason, eg changed mind or found cheaper elsewhere...

In the end I refunded the buyer but charged 15% on the return :-)

Only because the buyer filed a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ refund claim, opening up and using the item then sealing it up, claiming it was still sealed.

What's interesting though is an Amazon online support person said I should not have accepted the buyers claim but refused it, this was after I accepted and then took 15% restock fee :-)

so you put in a partial refund - and the buyer has said nothing about the fee?
