Default verowatch

Hello.
Does any of you have ever receive a mail from Verowatch ?

Here it is. i can't find any informations about this company. not sure it's a scam or not
Hi

We have just removed one listing from iOffer for copyright infringement, that being a criminal offence.

I can see from your feedback you have made many sales in the past and offering more of our other peoples copyrighted work too.

If you agree to pay our clients legal fees for our services, those being £395 pounds sterling, we will not proceed further with legal action, that being with the Police, Interpol and PayPal.

If you pay our clients costs, then we shall issue you with a 'Out of Court settlement' letter on condition you do not upload our various clients work again in the future.

We are only concerned with out clients work, not the other listings.

If you do not agree or reply, then we shall proceed and remove your account in full as well as report your details to PayPal, who will verify your true details, and also freeze your account pending an investigation as well as they report to law enforcement agencies worldwide as do we too.

This email is being tracked.

Please advise.

Seriously? That's the most unprofessional try I've seen in my life.

I have seen lots of C&D letters / emails. But if this really is the whole content of the mail, then it's way to unprofessional to be taken seriously. Have you checked what email address it was sent from? looks very much like some spam got though.

You can PM me if you need further advise.

Cheers

D.C.

WTF, are you serious? they are scamming you guy. They have found ways to snitch on people's ads and are now trying to extort money from you. If you pay them, you are a sucker, and they may even continue to ask for money.

Have you looked at their website? it looks like something put together in the 1990's.

OMG. Seriously?
Would you also pay if you got a call from IRS telling you you have to pay or go to jail?
Are scams not prevalent in the UK?

They are using a gmail account - that should be a sign enough this is BS.

Question - is that the actual letter they sent you or is that your translation?

Are your items still posted for sale?

In my opinion - this clown company is trying to scam you.

I just visited their website - WOW is it unprofessional. From the copy (written text) to the images, it screams scammer.

Also - that letter is terrible. The grammar is so poor I could hardly understand it. A legitimate company acting on behalf of clients would ensure to use proper English grammar and punctuation.

Again just my opinion (and dachilla and MM78's) but this is a total scam. Just ignore it and keep on selling your stuff on ioffer.

So very obviously a scam, but you seem to really want to pay, so go ahead and send them some money. They'll be back so be sure you've got your bank account warmed up.

Tell them to send the police straight to your house, right now, you're waiting, hands out ready to be cuffed.

Guys, cool down a bit. OP is French, so English isn't his mother tongue. Thus he might be easier to scare by badly written mails.

Just remember. It costs $0.99 to get a domain name, and setup email forwarding. If a "company" is too cheap to get a domain email, especially if they work for "verowatch", I would not believe it.

If it came from something like "payments@verowatch.com" I would be more likely to believe it. However since it came from a gmail account, I would just report it as spam, and move on.

Scam.

1) Very weak English, legal language used by real law agencies is absolutely different.
2) Site not working.
3) No any exact names in the letter.
4) Money demands from the second paragraph.
5) Noone would contact you through the phone, email or any other similar electronic means, as legally only a registered letter is deemed as an acceptable communication method in such cases.

If the email was real, they would use a company email. Not rubbish like this.
