Default Years later...

Has anyone had an account banned/suspended then re-instated after YEARS have passed?

My was shut down in 2005 if I recall. I have never tried to get it going again because when I tried back then it would always get closed.

So I wonder if enough time has passed, or will it just never get back going again. The reason code back then was report of scam on ebay, and too many disputes on paypal.

I've since cleaned up my act but I wonder what would happen if I tried to make a new account with my real name.

I think you would be fine creating a new account after 10 years. Especially if you have moved house.

Everything else would be different after 10 years so no links except the name.

Time to get the stealth guide. 10 years is waiting too long. I waited 4 years before I made my purchase, wish I did it 4 years earlier.

Welcome to the forums.

I think playing with the old account is risky based on the activity you stated. Best of luck with stealth

I tried with accounts suspended 5-6 years ago and got nowhere with it.
And since those accounts details are maintained by their system forever it is risky to use them again.
Just start over fresh and do things by the book (that is - the stealth guide).

My "other" account is working just fine. I just wondered if age was a factor. I would like to have an account in my name though.

My thought is that it would probably be fine for purchasing, but not major selling.

About a year after suspension, I did make another paypal account in my name. It worked fine for buying, but as soon as I received money on it, it was locked out.

I would just go stealth right away. Dont even bother reinstating it. The questions what benefit would it have if you were to do it? Absolutely NONE

Actually, if we were able to start a new account in our real name it would be no problem when it came down to verifying the tax EIN BS. I had to let 6 accounts die just because they wanted an EIN or ssn. The last 4 accounts were bought from here. When paypal asked for tax id or ein I was not able to enter a number because it said the account were limited.

My account was banned in 2006. I went ahead a few years later and created another ebay account. It worked. Mind you I had a different address and phone number from the old account. But I used the same paypal.

One thing I didn't get with naming stealth account
in the guide it says use alias like Bobby Green instead of Bob Green
or it would be better going with complete diff. name like Charlie Joe Grey
also one thing I have a doubt is if you switch to another stealth account but sells like mostly the same stuff than your previous stealth account (banned or busted or whatnot) and specially when you are the only say"potato peeler 3000" seller in town, would that makes ebay link your account?

You can go either way, an alias or completely different name.

Don't know where you live but you can always make accounts in nearby cities.....do you live in a City or rural area?

The are several ways to get linked:
1. Using the same exact images on multiple accounts
2. Using the same exact description (word for word)
3. Using the same name across multiple accounts

The same pp would be a link.

Now, the question is will the eb account go down? Possibly or possibly not - there is an inherent risk that it could

Those suspensions at that time tended to be forever and a day. Trying years after is rarely successful.

I had an indefinite suspension about 4 yrs ago. Several months ago, I was curious and opened an account with the same info: name, bank acc, address, ip etc. I even sold something and kept open for about a month or more and then decided to delete it, so... it worked for me.

I was suspended back in 2010 and had the same account reinstated with my mother's name and vitals plus a commercial invoice. Took about a month of back and forth but it was mainly due to not having a drivers license. All is good now and I've been selling for a month.
