no you cant on ebay uk, you can have a merchant account but also offer paypal, you have to link paypal to your ebay account to sell. Buyers in Uk normally opt for paypal, but if you offer another option then you may get some business through it.

It is said on this forum that if you get a paypal account YOU WILL BE LINKED.
How is this so if you use completely different details including name , address, bankaccount , phone number etc ...?

ok, this is a very old thread, and mainly US based, things have changed there too in terms of having to be linked to paypal to sell items on ebay. I think the thread is talking about using merchant accounts instead of paypal, but the problem in the UK is you must be linked to paypal verified account to sell therefore customers have that option and will almost always take it, by all means offer other options like a integrated or non-integrated merchant account, cheques etc, will the customer pick it, no not in my experience. If you get to them before they press paypal pay now button with your own merchant account invoice by email, maybe you stand a better chance, especially if you offer a discount at the time...

Default paypal accounts

what do you think of the idea of having a 'main' paypal account through which you can transfer money to in order to withdraw it to your bank account , ?
This would elliminate the problems of having to register a bank account on each new paypal account

To sell on ebay uk, you need to have a fully verified paypal. So you need a bank account.
