Default For anyone struggling for more bank accounts

For anyone struggling for a bank account, whether you have exhausted all possible accounts, or for credit reasons, google "think banking".

Will give you the account number/sort code straight away.

It costs £25 to set up and £12.50 a month, so a little expensive, although they will take the set up fee and 1st months payment from your first deposit.

If you are on the electoral register, no need for any docs, they can verify you electronically and the card comes in less than a week. No credit checks, just ID check.

If anyone else knows of any of these sort of products, post here.

I have just bought a tuxedo card (£10), they offer direct debits, but you have to send the form you sign on paypal to them....

Just hoping they will accept an electronic instruction!

Very interesting on the tuxedo card.... I have been looking for something like that for a while, thanks. Please let us know how you get on.

Think banking and their ilk are a waste of time in my opinion.... they are designed to help people with poor money management skills and conversly this makes it more difficult to manage your money how YOU want.

I doubt that will work. As I've been on there website and you have to fill out a form.

The first option with THINK is probably the best .
There are a few bank accounts online that can be rented monthly .
Strangely they all cost the same , £25 or £ 30 to open and then £12.50 or £ 15 every month.

I will be using one of these accounts for my next PP account .

One question though , do THINK accept dd and the 2 small depositis from Paypal ??

Good luck with them.

I hung up half way through the initial call with my money 'manager'. Waste of time.

They do accept DD though....

Yes I can confirm, THINK BANKING does accept the paypal deposits.

One thing to be careful on, you get 2 account numbers, one is your billing, and one is your salary. You have to use the right one. They will explain it all on the phone, a 15 minute phone call is all it takes. They will even call you back to save your phone bill!!!

You get a Mastercard with the account, and PayPal deposits take 4 working days to clear, ie before 4.30pm Monday will be in your account Friday! You get a txt at 6am in the morning everytime you get money paid in and the amount.

If you need to verify Paypal in a hurry with no money upfront, the quickest way I have found is with AccountNow.

After you've signed up for an account they give you your routing number and account number immediately.

You can then use those numbers to verify your paypal in 2-3 days and in 5-7 days you will receive your card in the mail.

As far as a reliable real bank account in which I have not had any problems with so far Bank Of America is a good choice. You can open an online account for free. The only requirement is that you deposit money in the account within 30 days.

One more debit card that is good for verifying paypal, especially if you need one with a bank account other than MetaBank, Rushcard is a good one to use. They send you a card with routing and account number free.

All of the above mentioned are free to start.

None of this is of any use for people setting up UK Paypal accounts.

Default cheap bankaccount

If you dont want to be paying a monthly sum for a bank account in uk

go to halifax and open the standard account...all you will have to do is pay 100 pounds into to start it off and to get the card and then its active and then you can use 100 pounds as soon as u get the card etc simple lol

i know you can go to the halifax, but the question is will it draw any more attention to yourself if you have more than 1 or 2 accounts in the same bank

I cannot see why anyone would want to pay those charges, when they can just have to get a free bank account. When you say draw attention to yourself, attention from whom? the bank? or paypal? either way not an issue, Ive got more than one with a few banks...

Just dont go ott, opening a stack of accounts in one go with one or more banks will red flag you, in terms of the banking system itself (probably think you are a money launderer)

Here you have answered your own question , if you open up to many accounts with one bank then they do get suspicious .

You are allowed to open up as many current accounts with your bank as you want IN THEORY however as soon as you open more than 2 or so the bank gets suspicious .
Yes , they think you need the accounts for criminal purposes like money laundering.

The banking issue in the UK is a real challenge for UK Paypal accounts...
