Do International Sales Contribute to VAT Threshold?

Does anybody know if international sales (on.com) contribute to eBay's £85k VAT threshold trigger?

For example if I make £60k turnover on eBay.com sales to the US, and £60k on eBay.co.uk sales in the UK does eBay count this as being over the £85k threshold and ask for a VAT number?

Technically the US sales should not count towards that threshold, but this is eBay

International sales on .com via the same co.uk account do form part of your 85K allowance.
