EBAY asking for UK ID
 

Hi

i run an account since 2016

been on the new payments since the begining and all fine

now they asking me to upload which i did, polish eu id card

they are saying they neeed uk passport and uk driving licence!

impossible i do not drive and i am not british!

i have lived in uk for many years not sure why all of a sudden my eu card is not valid?

you did not reply to the question though , do you hold an official residence in the UK now? I mean real address where you are physically present now and which is registered at banks , credit card companies etc. in your name?

and the other question was , did they tell you that you could not be verified and that you need correct the details or upload your ID if the details are correct?

already verified since start of mp

i have bank and council tax bill in my name

but they insist on uk passport or driving licence, again i am not british or drive

so impossible

sure this is a against human rights

, upon reviewing your account details, I can see that you have a UK address on your account whereas you have uploaded your EU National ID to verify your account details. Please know that in order to successfully verify your account, we would need a national government issued ID which has the same address you have entered while registering for managed payments. This is why the EU national ID is not being accepted for verification.



Let me inform you that due to policy limitations, you would not be able to change the registration address of your account once you have been accepted for the new payment process. Those reps are puppets. They are following what's on the paper so there's really nothing you can do about that verification.

those are emails from ebay reps which are completely useless , they do not even have access to the actual verification details and do not decide anything. you can write to 10 reps and will get 5 different responses which all may be wrong

what matters is the red banner in your account , what does the red banner say exactly?

and additionally , what was the exact text of the initial restriction email? I do not mean the text written by any ebay rep in the chat but the actual email informing you about your payouts being on hold

Eu Id cards does not work, if you have eu passport it will work

Your payouts are on hold until you update your account details. Please update by 18 Aug, 2021 to avoid further restrictions. Update account details

thats the red banner

email simply says we need you to update your details and to login and go the red alert banner

looks like no eu id is accepted at all, outrageous its full id in the whole of europe

can fly with it but not ebay!

there is an easy solution for that. you can go to experian for example and request your credit report , this is for free. then take your name , DOB and address exactly as they are stated on your credit report and update your account details on ebay

this is because the airline does not want to verify where you live and what credit history you have. ebay would want to see your credit history so you need to update your details in order to enable them to see it. if you don't do it you will not be reinstated and they will refuse to pay out any frozen balance indefinitely

when i try to upload it says id only

no option for a credit report

i could get this easily i have lot's of credit history but according to the reps uk id only

your personal details on ebay are either stealth or incomplete. you need to provide ebay your correct details which can be verified through experian. this should be exactly the same personal details your UK bank holds on file for you. This is an old problem , anyone whose credit history can not be verified , will be suspended with the money being frozen indefinitely

by the way , I do not recommend to upload anything until you correct your personal details because the number of attempts is limited and if you try too many times you will fail without being able to get out of this anymore

there might be some accounts where identity checks have not been made but it is likely to come at a later date

You've changed your address recently to UK. That's the reason they're asking for UK documents. You're probably operating from Poland and did that for some reason.

You still have the option to update your details to Polish and upload your EU ID by August 18th or with the UK docs that guys mentioned above.

no i was uk address from the start

i did change it recently to my new home

there is not an option to change to polish address and eu id

You can try to get a driving license asap. You have an address there, you probably have some UK official personal document. I hope experienced UK members to shed some light on this legal issue.

If you aren't able to update the info in to the eBay account manually (settings & red banner), you can always ask them via chat to change your country. I know for one successful story in this regard. Polish IP might be needed.

I am sure he will be suspended if he uploads ID without amending personal details to his real ones first. the fact alone that they asking to upload ID means that he has stealth details on file with ebay , maybe it is just an error like wrong DOB , maybe it is completely stealth but in any case if he does not allow ebay to run a credit check he will be suspended

i don't mind credit check but i have moved home so changed it

credit check on old address fine but they don't mention this or ask this

i have applied for provisional driving licence to new address

the way they tell you many different answers makes me feel like giving up!

ebay reps are useless here. if his account is stealth he can kiss it goodbye. if the account is real he can get a free credit report and adjust his personal details to his credit report. I have the feeling however that this is a usual stealth account otherwise he would have solved this already , requesting own credit report in the UK takes about 10 minutes and it is delivered instantly

is my id and my address

they have not asked for credit report and there is no where to upload that........

they want you to change your personal details so that a credit check can be made. for that reason you have the option to change your personal details after clicking the red banner or upload your ID. if you upload an ID which can not be checked through experian your account is as good as gone
