Default Changes to the item not received process?

A buyer opened an item not received case. I called them and make sure they received their delivery. I asked them to close the case and they said they had but it's still open.

Ebay are still emailing me asking me to upload tracking by a certain date or they will "find a solution"

Previously an item not received case had to be escalated by the buyer it would automatically be closed. Is this still how it works? It will be automatically closed unless the buyer steps in and escalates it?

Or is it the case that now it will be automatically be refunded and a defect given unless I provide tracking?

The item was sent untracked so it's impossible for me to provide tracking but the buyer has said he has received it and is happy.

You can try uploading tracking and eBay may close the case in your favor

All orders are sent without tracking as adding tracking is too expensive for smaller lower value items.

Well if you can’t provide tracking then eBay will 100000000% close case in buyer favor and you will get a defect. Tracking is very important

That is only if the buyer asks eBay to step in. If the buyer says he received it after opening request then it should just close automatically in like 3-4 weeks I think

I hate ebay so easy for a buyer to open a request but so difficult to find out how to close it I'm trying to provide the buyer step by step instructions but their website is so crap

The buyer just closed the case so all is good. Very frustrating that ebay effectively forces buyers to open a case when all the buyer wants to do is send a polite message asking where their item is.

the buyer must have open the wrong case,it should be ask a seller,not item not received.
if seller does not respond in x days,then ebay will step in .

Buyer might have just click-click-clicked e-mail links then realized that the error of opening a case
