I know the UK site or domain lags a little bit behind the main EB site as far as tech updates or upgrades as the UK still operates on some of the old formats of EB's past.
But, man!!!!! It is like pulling teeth right now trying to get my merchants that are based in the UK to ship my item within country!!! Thats crazy!! When someone purchases an item in any part of the world. I print the label like straight away from my laptop. It remind me of my early selling days when I did not access to my own personal computer and relied on the public library and long lines at the post.
Now, I print the labels and drop it in the USPS blue drop box for collection.

The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

Huh? UK is not letting sellers print a label and drop it off in their red drop box?
Or am I reading this wrong?

Yes, within with hit or miss comm as it relates to at least giving me a date on the item will indeed go out. I have to track it as I already have it listed as "vaporware" as in I have it set up on a 5 or 7 day handling time to get it here to the states. Oftentimes, I will end up selling it whilst it is still in transit with RM. I dont care for Hermes within country. I have to know where my money is located at all times! lol!
I can get it here quickly, withing 2 days with DHL. Fedex takes a little longer as they are a bigger network that moves a little slower. If that makes sense?
Cheers!

Or am I reading this wrong? | IDK how they do it. It seems like it is a process to where they have to come into the physical location to despatch.
Our process in the states is alot more streamline or, though it seems.

yeah, when I schedule a pickup, some newbies do not show up,they just close the request saying no one home !
You guys are missing what OP said-he will buy the item on UK and then before he receives the item,he starts listing them on Ebay USA AND there are times the listing is sold while the item is still in transit, thats his gripe why UK is so slow.
May be he is not the only one who knows how to play this game, his UK sellers may not have the goods on hand and waiting for its arrival from their sellers.
could it be US customs?once it enters US custom office, all tracking ceases until it came out of customs
Also, our East coast is having some weather problem-flooding??
Now our west coast is having 16 ft wave, and Japan just have a 7.6 earthquake

Which companies do not pick up?
I think everyone I know of does. Even Royal Mail now.

If I still had to queue at the post office every day I think I’d throw in the towel.
Saying that, Royal Mail pick up service is hit n miss at best.

Surely they have something for volume solution .... no?

Its a bit harder in the UK than USA when you are buildng up a business account with the Royal Mail, until you are hitting high numbers you have to take the packages to the post office to ship until the volume is big enough to get a daily pickup. The mailman does not pick up in the UK the same as the USA.
The other carriers will do pickups but charge extra so its easier to take the packages to the designated stores, even then there are size restrictions and big and heavy packages would be sent by Parcel Force. UPS and FedEx work to different rules in the UK as to size and weight.
Its a lot easier to ship in the USA.

UK post office doesn't have a back gate for container trucks where you can go in and just drop stuff off there?

You drop them off and the machines or people will scan them after.
