Can you change your phone num once confirmed?

Hi guys

basically i have had my inlaws phone number down for paypal and ebay. both have been confirmed and i am selling now

thing is, is that the number is open to everyone on my listings and i dont want people phoning this number as it isnt mine and will cause problems no doubt

so now everything has been verified can i make up a number in my account details or will this flag up on ebay?

yes you can change the number on file if you want, it wont be a flag. Ive hardly ever had a call though so you can leave it for a while.

But once you change your verified phone number used during registration , do they retain a record of this number on file? i.e. say when you ran into probs and your account gets closed, which number is blacklisted? Is it the first one used to verify you or the sunsequent one that you changed to.

my accounts have been verified but i just want to change the last part of the number to a made up one

no do not change it to a made up one, add a real mobile number instead.

Yes the other old number will remain on file but it wont get used as a contact number, the mobile will.

Never re-use a number on further non-linked accounts.

If you have to re-verify by phone at any point you will need a landline, but you can re-add it or another landline at that point, this is rare as you can usually reverify by email, if youve cleared your cookies inadvertantly

i usually use a virtual number service with ringcentral or ynumber and then change it afterwards so I can reg. another acct right away.

no you wont get flagged, it is a contact number for ebay/papal, the only thing you need a real or voip for is verification calls of all different kinds. If you keep cookies and have unique user screen you will not need a real phone unless they ask for it for some reason to verify you....at that point just add same or another real/voip number...

sorry to sound dumb but what is voip? i have a new user acc and cookie cleaner etc also

so if i change it on ebay will i have to match it on paypal also?
