I think I've made a credit card mistake ? I've re read again the ebay stealth guide and I think I might have gone wrong. I have an entropay account (in My real address) and created a card in a stealth name not my real name. I used this to open a paypal account and all went along fine. New unused bank account, phone and another name and address (not mine). Ive had a few sales come through ok. Limit was £1900 so I went ahead to see if I could remove limits altogether after completing process it told me they needed to prove my Id and were unable to do it online or something (but not exactly didnt match or was incorrect )and id have to fax proof of name and proof of address. The only thing I can think of is the new name was entered as Jon on the paypal account instead of full name of Jonathon (Jonathon on entropy account) and the entropay address is total mismatch to address on payp account. From the ebay Stealth Book and the forums I get the impression that from using a dummy transaction from credit card payp can check the name and address matches on the card to match the payapl details. So mine will show an address mismatch and a first name mismatch. Could this be what prompted the request for id to be faxed please. The payp account is just over 2 weks old . I contacted my banks telephone banking service who told me that payp contacted them on the day my credit card was added to my payap account. They requesteed a 68p debit. The bank then told me they approved the payment to paypal who then decided not to take the money. So I guess his was them checking the name address for free. Any help or advice appreciated please.

ID is being asked for £1900 mark, to everyone not just you

paypal cannot see your real name and address if you put it on vcc.

heres where I am confused;
you say paypal contacted your bank? thats not normal...you dont mean by phone, you mean that paypal just tried to debit your bank?

When setting up a paypal and adding bank, paypal do not take money they add 2 deposits, but you are past this stage now right?

so it seems that maybe paypal were checking the name on the bank credit, but if you say they deciding not to take it, then they would not know the name.

Ty for reply . I should have clarified that I have a stealth account with a VCC and another stealth account with an CC ( this i CC is in my real name and real address). Both of these payp accounts have new bank accounts new clean stuff as per the Ebay Stealth Book. I'll call them the VCC account and the CC account here to clarify. Both of these accounts got to the £1900 limit.

I started simple on the VCC account humble selling 7 low price humble items. EB and payp told me that payments will be held for 21 days until pos feedback from buyers etc which has happened. Now all funds clear with paypal for me to remove to bank etc. I had a rush of blood and saw the lift limits button and followed through and got right to the end and it told me proof required. I wish I has asked on here before I pressed the lift limits button.

This VCC account has not been limited though and I had assumed I had gone wrong here and waiting for the axe to fall because they are asking for proof of id , assumed they are unhappy about something until I saw your reply oompaloompa that “ID is being asked for £1900 mark, to everyone not just you ” ?. I assumed the worst here until I saw your reply. The axe hasn't fallen yet but I have been asked for id proof now and have to cross this bridge now etc. Advice here too if anyone can help please ?

Regarding the CC account on payp nothing done with it yet just left to age. I rang the bank and asked them about what details can be obtained by a company making a debit on the CC. They said name address of card user ? So I assumed I was going to be unstealthed here ?? I was told by the operator that looking at the transaction records Payp made a debit request on the CC card of £0.68 and my bank said it was ok to take but payp did not take this sum. I assume that this procedure was to check my details. The date payp made this request was on the day the card was registered by me with payp.

The situation now is both payp accounts are ok so far and not limited and at £1900 limit. The VCC account has some money in credit and a request from payp for proof of id.

What should I do please ?

^ Yes this is now normal, request is normal, supply the documents and your account could have it's current limitations removed. Worst scenario is the account being closed.

Don't age active PayPal accounts, after a certain time period your account will have to go through certain verifications steps. It isn't worth it if you can avoid it.

Ty shadyone . I think I have got confused here could you clarify payp cannot see a name or get address details when they make a debit from a VCC ? I was under the impression originally that they could not get details from a normal debit or credit card when they make a debit ? although avoid Llodys TBS bank according to this forum ? If papy cannot get details then I have debit cards in my real name and address can these be used for a stealth accounts ?
