Default Your buyer tried to open a case. Please contact the buyer.

Just received an e-mail from eBay saying two buyers have tried to open a case but because it was too early they told them to contact me first .. etc etc.

Now I had a couple of buyers I had to refund due to a problem I had; two a while ago and two recently ..

Anyway, when I seen the buyers name I knew that both were the ones I refunded .. so how can they still try and open a case? Am I missing something. Can they get the money back AND the item?

I checked my PayPal again just to be sure and they have both been refunded!
They e-mail was from today but they tried to open the case on the 21st July. Now one was issued a refund 13th July and the other 21st July.

Can eBay not see that they have both received a refund??? I am confused!

(not lucky lately with my eBay account - need a stealth one!)

Did you send them money thru paypal of did you refund them through their order using the "refund order" drop down tap in paypal?

You are going to get dumbass buyers every once in a while. Even through the last thing you want to do is give in to them when you know they are a piece of ****, just do it. I sold something to someone to Alaska and they complained their item arrived on Friday, when the purchased it on Sunday. Just suck up to them and it should work out.

correct, if you have refunded them, via paypal and via the refund link on that transaction
then they cannot claim again. If however you refunded a different way eg directly to their email and not via the transaction, you may need to contact customer support because in theory they can claim again and get automatically refunded....

Yep, just to onfirm, if you refunded through the system, you are covered.

There are some fools out there that try it on sometimes - we have to out smart them

Let us know how you get on. It should all be ok as long as you got proof of refund. If it was via pp then you are covered.

Hopefully them fools will get banned for trying on something lame

I wrote e-mails to both the buyers that had been refunded and tried to open a case; one replied saying he never opened a case against me as far as he is concerned he got his money back and he was happy with that. So where did eBay got it from that he tried to open a case??

The other buyer has not replied yet.

I have checked my PayPal again and both have been refunded through the 'refund' button.

I wouldn't worry too much as it has all been done through the refund button.

I rekon if the buyer puts a claim through, I will not work for them as they will probably get a message saying the refund has been issued.

Something has changed on the ebay page or the buyers are getting thicker, as I had the same response from buyers that did the same thing. They said they had not tried to open a claim they were just using support.

Don't worry about that email. It is an eBay glitch. I had it about 3 months ago from a buyer even though the buyer left a positive feedback and never even contacted eBay!!!

Nothing more happened about the two buyers that apparently tried to open a dispute. So far that means it's all ok.

BUT .. I am furious about another problem .. (see new thread).
