Good IP provider
 

Can anyone recommend a good ip provider (that lets you change ip address)
as i am on virgin media and cant seen to change ip address

who do you recommend

Yes, BT I find is good and very fast to change the IP - about 10 - 25 seconds odd.

I also heard Sky are OK, but I have had no experience with them so I cant confirm.

If none of those suit, there are always dongley wongleys - bit slower than above 2, but works a treat.

i am on virgin media and can change IP address 3 times per day do you have a connection straight to your modem or do you have a router then modem ? Do you have a router ? if you contact virgins "we are thinking of leavin virgin, department" they will send you a wirelss router free

i would NOT recommend sky for ip address switching

it takes too long sometimes for the ip to change,and even when you switch the router off and on it still gives you the same,it still works but there are better options out there

dongles work great, any of the mobile phone providers provide them and i heard they are all pretty decent

plenty of pay as you go or contacts to choose from

bt broadband is great for switching ip address also

bt unlimited option where you can join openzone

you can connect as many p'cs as you like to the openzone at the same time using the same login details and all the computers will have different i.p's

BT is excellent. No need to worry about the price when you can make good money. Anyway, it is only £16 a month, first 4 months is free...

I put a thread out a few weeks ago about how BT offer unlimited openzone and BTFON minutes for free. Each time you connect, you get a completely different IP. That way you can "hold" an IP using your router (BTHomeHub 3), whilst using a different IP on the Openzone, etc...

I have been monitoring the IP's as ever, and I have never come across a duplicate yet. :clap:

yeah bt is a quality service all round,

not expensive really when you compare it with virgin and sky

Disagree about Sky mines and always had a new IP thus far :)

But yeah BT is another provider that offers a dynamic service.

Dongle is also another option but speed can be an issues depending what area you live in....

I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with MR GTB, Sky is now terrible for changing IP addresses, I've tried to change my IP address but it does not change at all.

Depends on your router me thinks...

how long you have Sky as your ISP?

yeah i knew you had sky and was happy with it IM£

but recently i have had a few ip`s come up that i have had previously and sometimes when i turn router off,leave for about a minute and back on again the ip doesn't change

i had bt before and it was much better for ip switching

I use TalkTalk everytime i restart it, i get a new ip.

yeah my cousin is really happy with talk talk

i nearly went there but the reviews about the customer service put me off

If you change your ip number on sky..Make sure you keep a record of the ip numbers cos sometimes it gives you an exact ip number that you used a few months ago on the sky method its happened to me so be warned campers

To all the Virgin crew that can change their IP thanks. I dont have that setup but I knew for certain there was a way and you lot confirmed my suspicions - nice one.

If I did have Virgin, I would have kicked arz like you lot.
