Default 180 days passed, money out, but details still held

We all been there, having to wait for our money. What I do not like is that even though you have removed your money, your account is still "active" in some way. They still have your card details, and you are unable to close your account.

How is this allowed? and what is the way to get them to remove your details and close your account?

Anyone been through the process ?

Thanks

It's allowed because you agreed to their terms and conditions when you opened the account.

paypal took your rights to anything to do with the account when they imposed the (permanent) limitation. It is defined in their T&S. Such words are difficult to interpret of course.

Let me try to elaborate for you. If you had a bank account go into arrears, a loan agreement default, then your rights to them are curtailed. One would expect to have similar problems of closure. Those parties will keep overall control. paypal is the same.

paypal is the same.

Thats actually eBay/Paypal's words. Fact.

"eBay keeps most account records indefinitely and most transaction records for two years. Records may not be available for Inactive or closed accounts. PayPal currently keeps all records indefinitely"

You get hassle by a debt collection company. If your Stealth...so what??? )

@PayPalpains PayPal will hold your details because they have ended their business relationship with you and effectively NEVER want to deal with you again. If you had been scammed by someone or had an awful transaction with someone and then blocked them from bidding on your auctions...when would you decided to remove that ban or accept their bids again???? Yup. Never.

Your personal info is in their volt ensuring they don't deal with you again.

Stealth is the key to unlock the eBay treasures........
