Why do you even need to call them to reset a password? and password for what? paypal?

Surely, you can reset it by email, can you not?

Explain a little more...

DOB isn't one of the questions they usually ask on a general call, but of course that's with the code they generate when you log in, so in effect that's the security done.

I won't say yes or no, but I will start with a few things I've known them to ask (and for a password reset, I'd suggest they will ask important/lots of questions)

Is there no way to reset without calling? Answering the password reset questions you'd have set up when opening the account?

Name, Address, Phone Number, Email address, Last 4 digits of Bank account/Credit card attatched on the account. I just can't remember if they ask DOB. eBay do, PP, not sure!

For future posters on this thread, be careful with what you write out in the open on this sub forum - I mean for those who may know and choose to post from here on =)

@pluto, need more info about your predicament ....seems kind of sketch instinctive-wise.

Have you tried a password reset via e-mail? Rather than calling.

I understand that - this part of the forum is out in the open so any tips or tactics would best not be posted because ANYONE can see this kind of info. Perhaps, after reading some threads, you could pm specific folx who seem to be in "the know".

Perhaps they will respond with ways to do so.

It's not that I do not want to answer but I just don't know. I find that many folx who don't remem a pp account password with a lot of money in it tend to be up to something. It's only natural for me to question how hard it is to write down an e-mail and a password when an account is created.

So you e-mailed customer service - is that what happened when you clicked the "Forgot your password" tab?

I can assure you this is my account, I would not be stressing about it so much if it wasnt.

When I click the clicked the "Forgot your password" tab it asks for your email which i provided and it then send you a link when you click on it asks the security questions.

I then sent an email through the help webform and got the above response from Europeanservices@ paypal.com

Oh so you don't know the security questions either? Sorry for the back and forth but I am trying to see what exactly steps you have taken.

Always make an excel file with all stealth details.

Make it a habit.

pluto call them but have cc account number and vba account number ready as well as name and full address and phone number. Ask to reset your password to a temporary one.

Goodluck and it is right for rsot to be on edge cause these are sensitive topics.
