Has anyone tried going to HSBC in UK, registering for an account and asking for US bank account based in the USA since the bank is international?

The reply is yes BUT..

Do you mean a UK resident or non-resident (ie citizen of another country) or someone visiting the place (tourist)?

UK residents can use HSBC International services provided they meet the requirements.
Such service is fairly quick.

Non-residents can apply. Usually is a long drawn out paperwork application.



Hefty deposit and US address essential for any applications with certain HSBC International accounts.

Residents of any country where there is HSBC banking have the chance to get a US account in the manner you asked.

The bank arm is HSBC International.

More upmarket version of the bank. Comes with frills.
