item not recieved, negative feedback.

So I sold a item on eBay the other day, stupidly I never sent recorded delivery ( it sold for one pound four pence).
The item got lost in the post, every step of the way I've kept in touch with the buyer, keeping him updated, apologizing in the end I gave him a refund, apologized and said if it does turn up just let me know but keep it for free as a way of apology for the inconvenience ( I can't replace it, I only had one).

The buyer replied back 'OK I will do, I hope it does' all really nice.

Yet I log in today to feedback of ' bad seller item never arrived, took ages to post, would not recommend'

I should mention I posted the next working day, is there anything I can do about this really unfair feedback.

Was it a fairly new buyer low feedback score?? I find these are the worst cause the most problems, open cases just to ask questions and have no idea how much feedback can kill a seller

Member since 2006 but only 36 feedback. I wouldent mind if I was unhelpful but I went above and beyond.

Yep I just received a neg on a 100% account 66 feedback over 110 transactions and I think it was a competitor , I looked at his profile feedback 7 and feedback left ; out of 7 purchases 3 negs and one neutral.

This drives me crazy because I also had all 5.0 DSRs and this idiot just leaves this immediately.

I reported him using the report button and emailed the other sellers that were left Negs and they also reported him today , so I'm hoping they suspend the account and remove this feedback.

You work so hard and idiots have nothing better to do than leave negatives. If it was a competitor , why not just use that energy on improving your own business Instead of hurting others. The way I see it competition is good and there is plenty to go around . Ebay reaches world wide. These are stupid short sited sellers

Even if they get rid of me 10 more sellers will pop up I just don't get it

I hear you Dmshark - sadly, that's Net business - you can really do a lot for the customers and they still act screwy.

Don't forget to block his bidding ability - all of your accounts.
