I'm new to stealth and have purchased and read the eBay stealth guide.
I have an eBay account with 13,000 feedback 99.8%, 5.0, 4.9, 4.9, 4.9 DSR's, and it's an old account, so has no limits.
With the recent 'Case' thing on eBay, I've been stung with 3 'Item not Received' for USA customers in the last 4 months, so less than 1 per month. But, because I didn't resolve the case myself I have fallen below standard for the USA only and therefore been restricted to just selling to UK and Ireland. I still get International sales, but sales are down about 30%, not the end of the world, but very irritating as I'm a very good seller and feel like I've been stupid about having only one account.
The reason I didn't resolve the cases is that when I clicked the link in the emails to 'resolve the case', it took me to the log in page and then said my details weren't recognised. With the cases being so few and far between I didn't really think it would matter, I sell about 1200 items a month (low value £3-6 per transaction). I've contacted eBay who won't help me.
Anyhow, I'm looking at going stealth, all seems fine, I have a spare bank account and looking at buying a ready made account and setting up a few others.
The IP address is my biggest worry as I'm not a techie at all, I read about the dongle thing here which could be good, but I'm not 100% on it and I don't want to screw it up.
Also, I have 2 PC's, so I will spread the accounts across them with separate User ID's.
How do you guys have so many different bank accounts for the PayPal side of it? I have 3 bank accounts already, but 2 are linked to my current eB, the other is clean of anything, never used.
Also, I make my own items, but popular one's are copyrite, although I have stayed away from that on my main account, I want to go back into it with the stealth account as it's good money, popular and people don't expect it to be a genuine item as such. (don't want to give too much away).
Anyway, any tips would be great, I'm just trying to read as much as I can and absorb it all.
Tips on the IP address and dongle would be great!
Sorry for the long post,

With changing your IP address all you really need to do is unplug your router. Wait a few mins and it should change the ip address
you can check your ip address on IP Burger - Track Your IP Address!
Also there is a spreadsheet on which you can keep a track of IP address' and on which account you logged on to

Thanks agent-x !
I'll give it a go and see if I can get started with my first one..
I've got a 2nd eBay account, linked to the same paypal account, all genuine name, address details etc.. is it stupid to list some stuff on there considering the International Selling Restriction that has been placed on my main account?
I saw people say to switch between linked accounts when VERO notices build up, but is it the same for this? I don't want to risk my main account.

Avoid posting your IP in a public forum, but yes you are good to go. Quote: |

| I would avoid anything that anyone could think is one thing when its in fact another.
You could be selling an item that is so cheap that its obvious its not real - this is still not permited. The exact law on this in the UK is very complex, so best avoided all together. It will lead to issues in the long run.

Yes. In terms of IP address, you are good to go. Your goal is to keep IP address separate per user account to avoid them being linked when logging into a different account.
Keeping track of IP addresses on an excel spreadsheet is a must. Some nice sample ones are available to you on this forum, just search for it. Quote: |
Also, I have 2 PC's, so I will spread the accounts across them with separate User ID's.
| That is fine, but why do you need 2 PC's? I have one PC and I am operating 6 different stealth accounts using different Windows accounts for each. Eventually, I will have a few more on this same PC.
Unless you have 20 accounts on each PC and require them to be separate to maintain computer performance, there is no need for separate PCs. Quote: |

| Start off by verifying your PP account using a VBA. After a few sales, you can then attach your bank account. You can create multiple bank accounts with one bank. Your goal is to find a bank that accepts mismatch names. Lots of good ones out there for UK, again just search the forum.

VBA's are not available in the UK (unfortunately)
Only available for the guys over the pond.
Natwest may allow you to open a second bank account with them, do not use Natwest often myself so cannot advise on the options.

Your IP changing is good - make sure rest of info is new and unused.

I manufacture items, so I have a lot of design software program's that I need running all the time. I'll just have one for the accounts and one for the design software.
Not all items are copyrite, far from it, but logo's that people want are something that I offer and can't be sourced from the copyrite holder themselves.
I have managed to obtain an eBay account from a family member, is this a good idea? They don't live near me and don't use it, and don't have the same surname as me either.
Thanks for the help, it's very much appreciated.

While in the UK you can use Logo's without permission under certain conditions, it is very easy to fall fowl of the law in this area. You will also attract the unwanted attention of EB, and may get the items pulled.
Better to use a brand new stealth, or buy an aged stealth when you understand how stealth works. Using familys' details or accounts can end badly.
Better to be in total control of the account from the off, or use an account that you know has been created in the correct manner.
HSBC works a treat for stealth.

I have been VERO'd a few times over the years and I don't sell them anymore on eB, I'll just stick to doing those on my own website then, I was planning on doing a few safe ones that others sell without an issue, but no point I guess.
I'll use the stealth accounts just for selling more of the custom stuff that I currently do.
Family account - okay, thanks for the advice, I'll not use that then. I am going to purchase a site already up and running from a user on here and then start a few off from scratch if I can get to grips with how to do the paypal side of it.
With the IP address, can I use a dongle on the PC to save me having to restart the router all the time? It's not in the same room as me and I've screwed up my ankle, so the stairs are a challenge at the moment. I have an iphone, I heard they can be used?

Make sure you check reception for your area. Can be issues.
iPhone works BUT under no circumstances use the eBay apps.
