Default New seller accounts - defects

obviously new accounts with under 100 sales it will not take long to get over that 5% mark with defects

is it still like before where it was over 2/3 items then the % takes count or is it 5% from you start selling

The transaction defect rate won't affect your seller status until you have transactions with defects involving at least 5 different buyers as an eBay Top-rated seller or 8 different buyers as an above standard seller, within your evaluation period.

You need atleast 8 different buyers leaving you a defect for it to affect your account.

So if you sell 100 items and have 7 defects, then your defect rate is 7% but your account won't be below standard.

If you sell 100 items and have 8 defects, then your defect rate is 8% and you are deemed below standard as the minimum of 8 unique buyers have left a defect.

Happens a lot automatically.

I have never taken the risk to an account to actually speak to eBay about removing any certain defect though. Not worth it IMO

If the case is escalated and you win this wont be counted as a defect
