Adding UK bank account to foreign PP account

Hello comrades!

Can I add my UK bank account to PayPal account from Latvia? See, when You're registered in Latvia, in "add a bank account" there is required US standard bank info, not UK.
What do You think, if I call PP and ask to add my UK bank account to Latvian PayPal, will they allow me?
I will just tell them the truth, I have there active bank account, because I registered it when I was in the UK.
Is it possible?

This wont work. Adding a US bank to the majority of countries can be done in addition to a 'local bank account'. UK bank account only works on two PayPal countries currently.

One my friend lived in UK, and registered PayPal there, without verifying, just for buying some stuff on eBay, nothing serious. And after one year he returned to Latvia, and started eBay selling, he called PayPal, and told that he's moved to Latvia temporary and have to use his account here. They confirmed him by latvian phone number, added UK Bank account, UK card, and he even upgraded it to a business account.
I think this is because he registered in the UK, and used UK address.
And they didn't even asked him for ID or proof of address.

It was still a UK Paypal account though.
