Default Direct debit problem - please help!

Hi Everyone, I am very slowly setting up my stealth account after reading stealth and spending weeks checking out the forum. I thought it would be plain sailing but I'm stuck already on the pp direct debit set-up. It says 'Sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please try again later'. I have tried several times.

It's a TSB basic account. I'm guessing they wont send the 4 digit code to my bank until this is done?

I'm worried about contacting pp directly about this. Any ideas??

Hi GreenBean not sure what you mean by define several types, but set up paypal yesterday evening around 6pm. I thought that maybe it was because it was outside banking hours that problem had occurred. I tried again at 9am today and also just now. Same message each time.

you mean 2 deposit method? 4 digit code is for Credit card confirmation

Think OP might be referring to the four digit verification code to verify with basic account....i think :-)

TSB do NOT like mismatched name withdrawals. I had my bank account shut down once because of this

Yep I did mean the 4 digit verification code - sorry for confusion. I've finally got the dd thing to go through and got code. I didn't realise TSB didn't like mismatched name withdrawals. Maybe I should add another bank account to this paypal.

I'll bring this thread up because I've run into same problem.

I've added the bank, just need to verify it. I can get money out and its instant("up to 2 hours) and the account is over 90 days old with no hold on it.

I tried adding a bank to it, which worked, I can get money to my bank account without problems but I'd like the account to be confirmed.
At first I thought it was a glitch or just a random PP thing, but its been two days now and I still can't get them to send me the code.

Any advice? Should I just add new/different bank account or is there a way out here?
The bank that I'm trying to add is Natwest current account, just a basic bank account and NOT savers.

Help a brotha out, I've never had this happen before.

It normally happens when you try to add a bank account or some card to your paypal account and they ask for phone verification and you dont complete that, also if you have recently made any changes to your paypal account.

Forgot to mention, You may also come across this issue If you try to add an online saver, a saver you have recently opened, and an online saver you haven't activated with 1£ deposit.
