Default Got a strange email

I got a really strange email today to my gmail (my PayPal registered email address)

It wasn't addressed to me though, it just mentioned the email address. It said:

*email address here* ,

As part of our general security measures, we regularly check all the operations in the system. In a review we have recently encountered a problem associated with your account.

Please help us to bring to your account back in order. Until then, we have temporarily limited access to your account.

Where is the problem?
A recent change in your personal information (ie. change of address, email address, card information).

What should I do?

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Kind regards,
Conflict Resolution-Team

Anyone else had this? I've logged in to my PayPal account since that email though & there's no message there & I've also just withdrew £250 & it has completed instantly. So strange! Nothing has ever been changed on the account since I bought it in 2011. (Apart from the passwords but that was done shortly after I bought it) Is it a scam or could it be that third party company PayPal is now using?

It's a phishing email.

Been getting them frequently in the past 3 weeks.

Since it is gmail, try this: go to (R) side of message where it says Reply. There are other boxes. find the Show Original.

Will open in new page. You will see there is nothing to indicate it's paypal....

If you dont want to report it, delete at once.

So have you been getting the exact email?

To the right hand side of the message there's an arrow. When I click it it says reply, forward & cancel.

So if the message isn't actually addressed personally to you, it's not PayPal & a scam? PayPal will always use your full name right?

I was positive it was a scam, I just thought I'd make sure because of all the changes that are happening.

Panic now over thieving selfish b*stards, they make me so angry doing this to people. Especially near Christmas when people need money! Feel sorry for the people that fall for it as well

You get more and more if you have YAHOO email attached to PayPal accounts. Seems to rife on Yahoo recently!

I use Mozilla Firefox. I checked my email on my phone though, not the laptop. I'll try it on the laptop later It does say "Show Images" when I check the email on my phone though. Is that what you mean by "Show Original"? I had a feeling it was a scam when it wasn't fully addressed to the name on the Paypal account. It just had the email address.

Always check the origin e-mail - lots of scam e-mails always come out like this - I don't click on links in general for this kind of reason
