Angry How is this fair & why did it happen??

Hi everyone,

Does anybody know how this happens?

I had been receiving a few MC999 violations on my ebay account so I removed/ended all of my listings & stopped all trading on the account about a week ago.

I just checked my ebay messages & I received a message from ebay saying Your listing has been removed: Copyright Violation - Unauthorized Item.

I removed all the items myself last week ebay!!!! What do you mean YOU removed them for copyright violation?!?!?!

There was no MC??? code this time though, just a message.

Does anyone know why this happened & how I can avoid it happening again?

Thanks in advance.

You have to stop selling risky items or this will happen again and again.

Ebay can retrospectively punish you for listings that have already ended.

Perhaps that is what happened here.

wise move to cease selling on that account for a while.

Just shows how out of date their messages can be, the fact that you ceased listing and all trading on that account a week ago and they still send out this message, I think we can safely say they are a little out of touch with the reality of the situation.

How can you avoid it happening again, don't list that item again!

Thanks for the quick responses, very much appreciated.

So it's probably a case of ebay being notified by the copyright holder well before last week when I personally removed my listings? Ebay were just playing catch up?

I understand not to re-list the item again to avoid another removal. It just annoyed me that I removed it before ebay did & I still got a copyright violation. Maybe that's why there was no MC??? code?

When ebay removes listings on a backdated basis, there is sometimes no MC code.

Well it sounds like someone (or more) reported you.

Do you sell other high risk items on that account?

That's what I'm thinking, a rival seller has stuck the boot in.

I've been running that sole account for nearly 6 years now & have over 15000 feedback at 99.8 percent positive.

I wouldn't call all my items very high risk, if they were then I wouldn't of had such a successful account for this long. Ebay are possibly getting tougher on the type of items I sell though.

I'm just annoyed that I'm still getting into trouble even though I've nothing listed or even plan to list on my original account ever again.

Did you go through a tutorial on ebay yet?
At that point you are in a bit of a pinch without any doubt.

If it is a new company to ebay's Vero program all recorded item numbers for the past 90 days will be removed from ebay. They may come in batches. All at once is ok, the second notice, third notice are very dangerous even though it may have been 90 days ago.
