Funds on temporary hold but buyer hasn't returned or replied.

Hi. Buyer requested a return on the 21st for snad, I messaged him back saying to return it but have had no item back or message. I think he might have decided to keep it. Just seen the money is pending in my ppal, how long does this take to go back to normal?

Just looked in the resolution centre and it says refund due date 29th march. Which is today. So anyone know what's going to happen? I've messaged him the return address and another message asking him of he has recieved my return address but nothing in response.

From my experience if he doesn't upload tracking info to prove he returned it or doesn't reply. You'll just have the funds released by paypal back into your account

Do you know how long this normally is? Also I don't think he has even escalated it to eBay. He has just requested the return.

Not 100% sure but I think 30 days after he opened the return. If I remember rightly if someone opens a case against you the money goes on hold until it is sorted out. But if no reply it's 30 days after he opened a case against you.

So is requesting a return basically opening a case? Because I thought it was just a request and nothing happens with the money and stuff until they escalate it.

The returns lark on eBay has changed I'm not fully up to date with it. But if request a return either via PayPal or eBay the money goes on hold. Until it's returned or he doesn't follow it up I.e respond to your returns instructions . I wouldn't worry just say I haven't received anything. Might have to wait 30 days but you'll get it released

It depends on the reason he selected when opening the return request. SNAD returns will get you a defect and you will be charged if he prints the shipping label off.

Ive had cases open for 2 months before it closed. fortunately that was a change of mind and.my money wasn't held.

I have a request open at the moment. The buyer wanted to exchange for a smaller size. Strangely, my money is being held. The buyer has had his exchange but will not reply to my messages to close the case. Yet another reason the system doesnt work.
