so if it turns out that my item was intact delivered they will only compensate me for the signature which was not obtained?

so just the £1/£1.10 recorded delivery fee?

Yes that is correct.

Re: Recorded Delivery Claims help

This really sounds like the OP is going through all the old numbers and seeing which ones have not got signatures and claiming for lost items. Ive seen this before.

Would your buyers not of contacted you prior to this to ask where there items are if they had not been delivered?

Something smells like deep sea cod.

as far as i am concerned i have tracked the item using the barcode and the results show as undelivered. no signature.

i spoke to royal mail over the phone and gave them a few of the tracking numbers to look into for me. they came back to me with no trace of the parcel and that i am eligible to make the claim.

if once i make the claims, they contact the recipients of the parcels to check if the item was delivered and it was. Then in my book i have done nothing wrong.
How was i to know that the item was delivered if when tracked it shows nothing.

It does say 'making false claims is a criminal offence'

So just be careful :mod:

I remember the story of the two lads who did a fraud on the Special Delivery service, sending broken items and claiming RM broke them for compensation. They got caught out and got three years in the slammer.

Must of been worth it for those few hundred quid.

If the people you have sent the items to have not contacted you to say they have not been delivered, then rest assured, they WERE delivered.

By all means make claims for items you know have not been delivered but cut the crap with this "not signed for" excuse. The Royal Mail compensation scheme is there for a reason. Abuse it at your peril.

Didn't think we would see the OP back once I pointed out his scam plan :)

One other problem, what happens if your buyers think the same as you once that letter points out free stuff for them.

how many Not received claims can your account withstand.

Well if he is doing this to scam people and not the honest way,

Then when royal mail send the automatic letter out asking if the buyer received the item, and the buyers come back with yes on multiple items & buyers.. that is when he will get what is coming for him lol..

And if he is even more lucky he will get some nasty messages from them on ebay to.

He logged in last night so obviously saw the thread, so I think we can ascertain that he was trying it on.

Hopefully some cold hard jail time will happen, better start stocking up on cheap soap from China, if it dosent sell on eBay, he will have plenty of use for it
