Default Natwest basic account

Hi guys,

Anyone tried re-adding a natwest basic account to a new paypal account recently? It's not letting me, not sure if it's a paypal glitch but i've tried for the last few days now.

Thanks.

When you say re-adding what do you mean?

Adding a bank account to a PayPal after it has already been added to another PayPal?

Or adding in a bank account to the same PayPal that its been linked to previously but removed for 1 reason or anther?

Thanks for the replies.

James - When I say re adding I mean it's a brand new PayPal, brand new bank account. I added the bank account and confirmed it with the 1p code. Then removed it. Then tried to add it again. But it won't let me at them moment.

That's still the correct procedure these days, isn't it?

Thanks

Why did you add it and then remove it? Just adding it and leaving it is fine.

You may well need to ring PayPal to get it added again. Its very straight forward, just make sure you have all your details in front of you

Okay thanks I'll give them a ring.

I thought that you had to remove it so the DD didn't set up correctly, then re add it so you can use it to withdraw? Is this incorrect?

I never did it like that as I just add it and leave it be but why would you not want the direct debit to set up?

I was under the impression that you don't want the DD set up.

Nope. No issues with have DD setup. It will allow for funding payments. Either way, by removing it, you will wait a few days before DD gets setup again.

If you dont want DD, use a savings account and not a basic/current account.

Okay thanks.

When I add a savings account, is it the same process? Let the DD get set up?

You would have to make the DD is already setup with the bank before working with the savings account

From what im aware, with my UK accounts, connected to savings accounts, you just wait it out for a few days until you get an email from paypal stating that this bank cannot be used to fund payments...

Doesnt matter, just get on with it. You can still withdraw to your bank account and thats all that matters for selling.

If your buying with the account, then you really want to get current account linked and let the direct debit agreement set in (3 to 5 working days).

Its not Natwest, its what the OP did, paypal system doesnt like it. You shouldnt remove bank accounts, and re-add them, in an abrupt manner. If you do, you then need to call in to have it re-added.
