Activity: 0% Longevity: 57% | | Paypal - Final Decision
Hi,
Received a message from paypal this morning regarding a final decision to leave this paypal stealth account in a permanent limitation is final etc etc...
This was pretty much out of the blue & no explanation why, I did have a customer open a recent dispute because they received the wrong size, this was dealt with, other than that minor dispute on paypal I have had no issues & the stealth ebay was up to about 95 all positive feedback / top rated,
I am selling clothing, branded but not top end brands and are original
Does anyone know if it is worth me contacting them to try and appeal this or would you advise it is best to just let it go?
With the ebay in good shape and no real explanation as to why this paypal has been permanently limited any advice on what to do next from people previous similar experience would be appreciated
Thanks

Hi thetrig,
a very similar thing happened to me last weekend.. out of the blue permanent limitation due to PP "protecting their own security" -I called them to which they wouldnt give any reason. I also am left with a ebay account in good standing.
I have decided against the opinion of a few people on here and made another stealth PP account (no bank acc attached as of yet) and have linked it back up and have listed 5 items, all to finish tomorrow to see what happens, There are mixed reviews on here about people who are for and against doing this - so we will see how it goes. the PP is 40% confirmed - just added a spare phone number to it.

Cheers for the info, I just spoke to a friend also who had the same happen to him yesterday, so looks like there is some clampdown going on - anxious times hopefully no problems with my other accounts,
Let me know how you get on with the ebay going into a new stealth paypal,
I think it is best i don't call them as could cause more problems

yeah I have never had any decision by either Ebay or PP reversed.. I only called them to see if I could get some info on why they had limietd my account and they kept that to themselves
With mine I think i triggered something their end as I sold more than I usually do on a weekend.. only around 300 quid came in but it was enought to set offf an alarm in PP HQ!

Yes its cull time, lots of posts on this in the limited section.
You will 99.9% never get an account unlimited, so just move, and try never to figure it out entirely, it will send you mental. Normally its the docs that let you down under second scrutiny, also remember a third party fraud protection agency does merchant reviews, therefore the majority of Stealths will eventually fail, because you dont exist anywhere in the world from land registry, to electoral role.
Just expect it and be prepared for it. Always keep new accounts aging and warming up in the background ready to move sales.

Well, I just managed to re-instate PP. They said they don't like the docs. I sent the same docs again, and it worked. You always should try to call in several times before abandoning an account.

180 days is the general rule for releasing after limitation

just my opinion but i think they're cracking down now as they're their own company. Before they could take more risks with them taking 12-13% of your transactions with ebay+paypal. Now its only 3-5% its not worth the risk. I've got about 30 odd paypals and not had any problems though touch wood and I'm bad at stealth lol

PP have become a bigger headache to me than Ebay!! never thought I would be saying that.
Im going for the low sales approach lots of accounts with sales spreadout over each every week. looking to sell around 10 items on each a week max. hopefully keep under the PP radar.

Had the same thing a few days ago, said nothing in the resolution center, had to phone up, they said they will send an email 24-48 hours, got the email today, saying we f'd you . So with nothing else to lose I phoned again today to appeal it, probably wont get anywhere , but weird how it got limited, it was running perfectly fine for 3 months, never in the red , a few refunds here and there i only withdraw once a month from it balance was never below £100

Probably an Experia credit check by the third party anti fraud companies they use.
Where you selling branded items? Had you sent ID in? - anothe classic, poor ID = fail on the third party look at it.
