Default Multiple Public IP on Router and Virtual Machines !

Hi,

I am planning to have a multiple fixed IP Address on same router and than assign each IP to virtual machine, In this way all the virtual machine will have fixed static public IP Address and on top of that I will have a firewall rule where no traffic will pass to outside apart from a fixed IP address.

Is this workable ?

Have any one tried this before ?

Any advise would be really appreciated.

Thnx

I think tonyalmeida has something similar and has no issues. I've never dealt with multiple IPs from the same router, but as long as you keep track of them, I don't see why it would be an issue

I am not planning to keep the record or track them as IP address will not change and will have added firewall just in case some thing change in terms of public ip address

How can you have multiple IPs on a router simultaneously?

It's not the Router itself but the ISP who can give you multiple Static IP's for extra charge. This usually involves a set of instructions on how to program each Computer for this task.

Yes, not sure if they can be run from the same PC but you can pay for multiple IP's.
