If they have a sort code and an account number, and if they are not an bank who has issues with mismatching names, then it could work

Majority of the prepaid banks work like a dream for Amazon due to the BACS payment rather than bank transfer type deposit. That's why Lloyds works for Amazon but not PayPal.

PayPal - yes they can work but you need to be signing up in REAL INFORMATION and they don't accept mismatch names, or down the line you could have an issue.

Yes. You can make withdrawals. Tested!
Just need Android phone to open account. It's amazing service, FOR NOW :)

open a bos or rbs basic, my credit score is awful and have accs with both banks, and easy to open several savers with both

You get sort code and account number in the UK. They give you IBAN too. I think it is in Estonia. The Visa card is coming via posts. You can manage only through the Android app

Get this message:

"We're sorry, we're not able to process your request. Please try again later."

Maybe PP isn't working properly but I just made a stealth around an hour ago and had no issues adding an RBS. Just thought it update people on this incase they download it for it not to work.

That happens on PayPal sometimes

How old is the bank account?

You may need to phone to manually add the bank account

ill try bell them tomorrow and update, joined with monese last night waited 24 hours before trying to add. Ill hang off until tomorrow and give paypal a call and try add it that way

I am adding (here in Bulgaria) the card Visa. I first send few pounds to my Monese account. Maybe you need to put some money, because PayPal is holding 1 pound for a litle time when you add new payment method.

Ah ok i get you, i thought you meant you were using the sort code and account number monese gives you, once i receive the card i will try adding the card then. cheers.

Dont forget you must put few pounds first to add the card in PayPal. :)

Just a quick update as wanted to know if this would work by calling them, i did call they added bank manually for me but was removed automatically as the account never did receive the 1p deposit so now know it doesnt work by calling or adding yourself, but as uhaaa has confirmed you can add the card you receive from monese.

try coventry building society, you can open a MoneyManager current account with £1 and get a cash card but no debit or credit card and no overdraft facility.
has internet banking and works with D Debit.

Just opened a Coventry Saver, was easy and you get the account number and s/c instantly online........thanks for the info. :)

Just opened a Money Manager account also......nice and easy but you have to wait for acc numbers ,etc, to be posted to you. From your experience arktech what is the safe total of MM accounts, saver accounts, or total accounts to have? total of 4 or 5?

I started with 2 originally . then one went breasts up with a paypal account. closed it and then opened another 3 so i have 4 now have to deposit a £1 in each.

Btw their ISA accounts gets a good mention on the money saving expert site. 1.5% instant access


I don't think there is an overdraft facility and no debit or credit card available so I guess no credit check problems cos you wont get credit.
