But it is up to the person who is sending the items to ask for a 'bulk receipt' so that it displays this on it, otherwise you just get the normal till receipts.
If this is really the case then I stand corrected. But it seems like this would be a massive loophole for scammers to exploit. If you can win a chargeback on UK Paypal just by uploading "proof of postage", does that mean any buyer who's order legitimately gets lost is out of their money, no questions asked? And wouldn't sellers be able to post all of their orders and immediately cancel all of the shipments, so they have "proof of postage" when nothing went out?

I will admit that I posted my replies based on how things work with USA Paypal. I just couldn't imagine it being much different in UK. When I used to ship orders without tracking I would lose every chargeback/case that was opened against me.

Don't understand how you're getting so many, I probably get around 1/20,000 or less.

You still lose on item not received cases, just when they say it was unauthorized transaction you win, or thats what just_smile is saying anyway, not tried it myself

It all depends on value of item, and type of area you sell in. If they are low price items, the scammers generally dont see it as 'worth' it to commit fraud with their chargeback, but I've found anything over £25 seems to be fair game.

For years I have not had chargebacks, but this year been hit with about 15, thankfully all of them won as I upload the tracking and a photograph of the receipt. The area I sell in attracts a fair amount of chavtastic buyers, so I expect the BS to be honest.

I never send anything without tracking, its just not worth it, if I can't make the item pay with the more expensive option, I don't sell it.

Ive never tried to win a case with just proof of posting though, so others advising on that have more knowledge.

Why are there comments from people in the States, commenting on the UK part of this website, with wrong information then arguing the toss when righted by a UK seller, I dont get that. Attention or post count?

Neither honestly. I just lurk around here as I'm drinking my coffee in the morning. I know I'm in the USA but I based my answer off of common sense.

Common sense and PayPal don't really harmonise in the same sentence
