Default Possibly a scam? advice please.

Sold a pair a trainers, Nikes of course legit genuine etc and they were purchased for £65 by a buyer in Russia, buyer paid right away and his account had 11 feedback all pos. I posted signed/tracked 1 day later, 3 days later he opens a case on paypal stating his account was used by someone else and he doesn't want the shoes, paypal have held the funds and of course the item has been sent, on the 4th day after posting he has since closed his account!
Paypal have asked me to give them proof of posting which I have done so and now awaiting a reply.

Where do I stand with this? if the buyer refuses to sign will they get returned? if he signs will they release the funds?

Any ideas?

Russia market is always problem when it comes to potential scams.

Legit genuine for 65 quid....that's a pretty low price no?

You gave proof of posting to PP so few other factors will depend if you are eligible for seller protection.

If he refuses to sign (which I kind of doubt), it will likely be returned to you at a cost to you via ground mail. IF he signs...you will some kind of proof - electronic or form or so to present to PP.

Thanks, will just have to see what happens

£65 is pretty much what I paid in the shop!

If they are sign for then I can easily prove this and hopefully paypal release the money.

Unauthorized use of his ebay account is what the claim states on paypal.

If you have proof of posting and then proof of delivery when someone signs for them, then you should be OK, its no different for when someone opens a case where its not them who have signed for the item - as long as you have a signature you should be protected.
