Stigger | 01-10-2012 04:37 AM | What phone ,some you can change mac.
i would just but a donle and use a giffgaff sim.
Also some laptops have sim card slots. |
bally | 01-10-2012 01:13 PM | hi its a htc sensation
what does change the mac mean?
thanx |
all you need bud is a dongle,a new windows user account and fresh details and your good to go
get a vcc off me and add your own bank account and your away
mac address changes your a static ip address, its a pain,a dongle will save you alot of time honestly and we all know time is money and time waits for no man |
i.e mobile phone linking
as far as i am aware you can get linked with your mobile
dont use your mobile to log into eb ay accounts
separate windows user accounts only |

how the hell do you work that out ? |
i aint worked it out
i said as far as i am aware
BUT,common sense kicks in and surely....logging into mulitple ebay accounts with the same smart phone is bound to cause problems
or am i wrong
we all get things wrong now n then right tiz? |
it is not something i would do or advise
correct me if i am wrong mate please do |
Stigger | 01-11-2012 07:02 PM | I use my phone some times
not sure about other smart phones but my htc is a windows phone.
Anyway, its more or less the same as using a dongle, people do it all the time.
what if you have never used the phone on bay before and only use it for one account .
suppose there is a possabillity of linkage if not managed right just like any other . |
right
common sense really |
johnnyleeds | 01-13-2012 03:51 PM | Eh? I dont understand what you are saying about mobile phone linking... I've been using mobile broadband with GiffGaff for nearly a year now and I've (touch wood!) not had any problems, of course the usual rules apply regarding cookies etc, but are you saying there is some kind of 'linking' that is peculiar to mobile phones?
I dont use a dongle as I dont need one, my phone has a built in HSDPA modem, i'm not going to muck about taking my SIM card out of my phone to put it inside a dongle when I can just connect to the internet using my mobile phone. Do you know if this is definetely a problem? I'm proper paranoid now! |
sup jonny
depends on if you are using multiple accounts with the same phone
now am far from an expert on this but,i think there will be some way they can link you
you cant have different user accounts on your phone can you jonny?
eb ay will be able to see the phone you log in with and it will be unique
i am just guessing mate but if you think about it |
@bals65, if you are using Ebay's App they might be able to link you, You can always use your phones browser or you can always use 3G, 4G to tether to a laptop, but you would have to do all that good stuff with clearing cookies etc.
If you use your phone to tether don't use the Wifi. |
jbluntz | 01-13-2012 11:19 PM | With iphone it's pretty easy, you can download the ebay/paypal app's along with ip manager which keeps a history log of your ip's. Clear history, cookies, cache in settings, switch on/off personal hot spot, check ip in ip manager. Then you're free to login to any account from there. |
I don't trust the Ebay/Payal app as far as I can throw my Iphone with my Otterbox Case!
But then again I've never been brave enough to try more than 1 account on the phone. |
johnnyleeds | 01-14-2012 02:50 PM | No, I only use my mobile phones modem to access mobile broadband, I'm not using any Ebay App, I am using my laptop tethered to my mobile phone with Firefox / CCleaner installed etc, the IP address changes quite regularly, even as I'm logged in its changing. I dont see how Ebay would be able to see what phone I'm using? |
whatnow | 01-14-2012 03:51 PM | i think you'd get linked but im gobsmacked at the amount on here that havent
:pop2: |
johnnyleeds | 01-14-2012 08:27 PM | I dont understand what it is that going to link me though, its not anything that is mentioned in the Ebay Stealth manual, all it talks about there is cookies and IP addresses, it doesnt mention anything about not using mobile phones / mobile broadband. I know there are others who use mobile broadband in dongles etc which is exactly the same so surely they would be all getting linked too? |
jbluntz | 01-14-2012 09:13 PM | That's all I've ever used is my phone since I started, use phone for tethering, then also send paypal invoices from my iphone using the paypal app. |
Pringles | 01-15-2012 01:47 AM | Ive been using 4 stealths for almost 2 months now purely on iphone
No problems over here
Im amazed at all the people claiming that this will get you linked
I dont touch the apps and i clear all my browser data by browsing in private mode in Atomic Web Browser
I also use Ipmanager app | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:08 PM. | |
