Backup Payment Method

So my first account has gone live on MP today.

I have gone into Settings and added a card as the backup payment method. The card seemed to be accepted but now it shows the card under "Automatic payment method" instead of PayPal, but under "Backup payment method" it still says "None".

Can anyone confirm if this is normal and how it should look?

Do I need to have something showing under "backup payment method" to ensure eBay don't dip into the bank account for fees and refunds?

Depends what you mean by okay.

A lot of people were converting stealth accounts to real accounts to sign up for managed payments. I don't know if any stealth methods are working successfully. It's gone very quiet on the UK discussion boards.
