As stated I never needed to change name on my limited account, so cannot say what docs paypal request for name change. I was lucky in having a common first and last name - which matched bank account used - so only pp address needed changing to match the temporary mailing address used for bank statement. The bank statement and birth certificate enabled money to be released. It took awhile to arrange all the details but worth the wait Lol.

I was only guessing he was referring to a deed poll from his solicitor. As you say that may be way too much hassle unless a substantial sum was involved.

Im a little late to the party on this one, but had a read through the thread, interesting stuff! I have sent genuine docs in myself on a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ account to get monies released, but this was years ago, PayPal was very different back then..thankfully havent had to for a while touch wood

This also happened to me, sent in docs, paypal wouldn't release funds. Kept calling for a few weeks until I got someone who assisted me with adding a bank account and then withdrawing the funds.

Had around 5 accounts, and all requesting ID. Got away with not sending ID for 1 account (they already had from money laundering limit) but I still have 1 account with a couple hundred quid and haven't been able to withdraw.

Will probably try again when i'm bored

Recently, I've just been refunding the largest orders which usually amount to more than what's in paypal and asking the buyer to resend payment to me - this will depend on what you sell, it may be more likely they will just ignore you and keep the refund

I have same situation can someone help??? Paypal wants from me to send in a photocopy of my identity countersigned by a solicitor... account is stealth. Should i try send original documents with different name and address????
