If you sign into paypal.com and select contact us that should hopefully show you the US contact numbers.

Re: Success, at last!

Contacting US Paypal does work to get funds released when ID has been rejected on the UK site. It may take a couple of attempts as some reps are more helpful than others.

Somehow cant find the Paypal US number, tried logging into paypal.com but just gives me UK/Ireland number, any advice? thanks in advance.

Re: Success, at last!

Got the number, what's the best way to call USA from UK? EE charging £2 a minute.

Re: Success, at last!

Update, after calling Paypal US, the first lady I spoke to sounded like she was ready to let me transfer the funds to my bank account but it wouldn't let her, she escalated it to "Level 2 limitations" and the guy couldn't have been more useless, still asking for ID for compliance laws, apparently my account has already been reviewed by a supervisor.

Try again tomorrow and hope for better luck?

i spoke to paypal recently and they told me any amount under 400 they dont need documents, or if they ask, to wait a month and all funds can be withdrawn.
Currently they are holding £2200 and £1750 in 2 accounts, but i have a very col way to get the funds out withough providing docs through a series of bank chargebacks and about 3 days of pure work to make some accounts.

As I said previously, it may take a couple of attempts as some reps are more helpful than others.

Very often reps will spout any old rubbish just to get you off the phone.

Re: Success, at last!

I had £400 in an account that i got limited for 180 days. I was using paypal to sell on Facebook and even though all was legit they said it was high risk !!!! To who i dont know.

Come 180 days cash still held, all email answered by automatic reply. Called paypal and asked why, they asked for docs i told them my legit bank account was attached to paypal and mentioned the legal action small claims route if my cash wasnt freed as the 180 days had well passed and they were just holding onto it.

Have tried a few times since I last updated this thread - no luck, same answer asking for ID.

Going to submit docs and hope for the best, nothing to loose as it stands.

Interesting tread. Will bookmark it. I have one on 180 days coming up in November. Account has over £800 in it. Sounds like it is going to be a nightmare.

How? what steps did you take to recover the money ? what did you say to convince them to release the funds?

paypalpains 09-22-2018 03:58 PM

Re: Success, at last!

After reviewing your PayPal account, we've determined there to be excessive risk involved in doing business with you and we'd like to begin parting ways in a manner that is least disruptive to your business.

If there is any money in your account balance, it will be held for 180 days (from the date of the last payment you received) to cover any disputes that might be opened by your buyers.

After 180 days, we may ask you to provide us with a proof of identity and a proof of address before you can withdraw any remaining balance.

If there are outstanding buyer complaints open against you, you can refund your customers via the Resolution Centre in your PayPal account.

We reserve the right to close any account reported to be involved in possible high-risk behaviour. In the event of a dispute, we'll try to recover the money from you by debiting your PayPal balance first and, if there are insufficient funds in your PayPal balance, we reserve the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter and regret any inconvenience it may cause you.

Yours sincerely,
Malini
