Activity: 0% Longevity: 92% | | Limited for no Reason I can understand
hi everyone, am fuming at what has just happened.
First my paypal account was limited, as all i had to do to remove that limitation was to add and verify a credit card, which i did 2 days ago and my account was restored.
Just now, i received an email that my account is limited, i got the 180 days email etc.
But i dont understand, nothing has linked it, no disputes, no nothing, and now i just lost another valuable account, with £600 trapped in there.
Am sick of loosing accounts, starting to give up.
Please tell me is there anyway to get it back ?
thanks

So they limited you, then reinstated the account, then kicked you off?
Doesn't make sense, but when does it!

yes the account was always verified, from the day i linked it. Well i have been using for 2 months now. Just the last two days about £800 went in. Selling 30-100 pounds items.
heres the email :
Dear xxxxx
As part of our commitment to offering a safe transaction network for all of
our valued members, we regularly screen account activity. During one of
these screenings, we reviewed your account and determined that the activity
associated to your eBay or PayPal accounts poses an inherent risk to the
overall security of our network. Unfortunately, due to this risk, we have
determined that we are no longer able to offer the use of our services to
you.
Although you are no longer able to utilize PayPal services, you may still
log into your PayPal account to review the information associated to your
use of our services for a limited time.
In accordance with PayPal s User Agreement, the balance of your PayPal
account will be held for 180 days to protect PayPal against the risk of
reversal stemming from buyer claims, chargebacks, or other reversal rights
that may have been assigned to a consumer outside of PayPal and eBay s
policies. After the180-day period has passed, any remaining funds will be
available to you for withdrawal, less any additional amounts owed to PayPal
or eBay.
Additionally, eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously disputed
to the billing method currently on file and you will be credited for any
listings that were ended.
While we regret having to make this decision, please understand that the
decision was based on criteria set forth in the User Agreements for both
PayPal and eBay. You can view our User Agreements in their entirety by
using links located at the footer of each of our websites.
Please do not reply to this email, as this mailbox is not monitored and you
will not receive a response. If you seek further clarification regarding
your account access, please contact PayPal by visiting the Help Center and
clicking "Contact Us.
We thank you for your prompt attention and cooperation with this matter.
Sincerely,
Account Review Department
I sent an email, saying why i was limited, and asked if it was a system error, just got a crap auto response.
Now am trying to call an agent, man am fed up

They are rotters. Seems they have 'picked' on your account because of the amount (£3000 =30@£100) & whatever your items are they decided the possibilty of chargeback is too much for them. For an 8 week old account it is a lot of money....in their opinion.
They have a habit of limiting accounts, removing the limits, then limiting permanently. You may have a chance of getting this reversed...remote. I'll hope for the best but...

I would call them: if the first staff person is stupid (rolleyes), politely ask for a supervisor/manager. Tell them about your happiness of using paypal (hahaha)....new to paypal, started a business in these trying times, what can they suggest....have all your info :be polite, professional.

PayPal are heading for another HUGE class action lawsuit IMO and possible criminal implications with these techniques they are using to lock people away from their own money

I would love to see that happen. Individuals charged criminally, company ordered to compensate in a civil matter.

How in hells name can it be fair and equitable to hold onto somebody's money without any just cause for 180 days? 30 days yes, anyone who has bought something and has decided it is not right is going to do so in 30 days. 180 days sounds to me like a way to make money

This has happened to a seller in the first few months they started selling stealth. The account received a lot of payments, and was limited. The seller got the account unlimited with little verification, then the account was relimited within 4 hours. That time they asked for everything. The seller was able to get it unlimited for the 2nd time though too.
In your situation, Paypal has already made their mind up. The best thing you can do is focus on a new account, new strategy, and a backup plan in case this happens again.

call and inform them you are, just for the heck of it, referring them to the financial ombudsman, it will cost paypal to have it reviewed, as far as I know they are under that scheme, as they trade in UK though based elsewhere. This only really works however if the account details are in a real address and real-ish named person....
ps. all paypal employees should be tasered

I'm guessing you sell HIGH risk items.. items deemed too much of a hassle for PayPal.
Spread your sales out over several eBay and PayPal accounts is my recommendation.

Your PP account IS permanently limited. No chance to get it back.
Get new paired accounts then proceed with new strategy & plan carefully.
